I just grabbed one, after your post…
Crazy, still oos for me. Wonder why.
Most likely doesn't ship to your address/location.
@RichardL: Yup, they dont ship to central QLD
Ctrl+F5 ?
avail, just got one
Ordered 1 thanks. $20 is the average I pay for those, no matter Aldi tefal, or what ever, I don't expect them last over 1 year anyway. At least I don't have to visit a store.
These ones are made in France, I find them to be a tad better than the Chinese ones. If I am eating Teflon, I want French Teflon!
$40 and you get a set of 4 from Ikea, as cheap as the kid toys. I got one for back up.
Nah, don't need the rest pods, I have enough of them and they last longer than the frypan/wok
Trust me, this one is not your average $20 one: the ones I got are both made in France, 1150gr (this)compared to 727gr(one I got for $29 on ebay)
Couldn't resist 83% off
Reviews are not that good for this

Real reviews are always less . Most of them are marketing reviews .
I have a Tefal fry pan and the issues are similarFor 20, they are all the same.
You are running it too hot. I have not warped a Tefal pan on my gas range yet.
Have you tried learning temperature control?
Thanks, got one. My old non-stick wok has a couple of scratches so was meaning to replace and I've been really happy with the tefal pan I got six months ago so this should do quite nicely!
Got it thx
Irresistible at this price. Thanks OP.
Wok = high heat
Non stick = cannot tolerate high heat
I do not get this technology
Ah yes, traditional Chinese cooking with steel wok on charcoal, cooking chillies in smoking hot oil so the building feels like tear-gas grenades have gone off.
But most of us don't do that in Australia. As long as you use cooking oil or fat, and it is not smoking off (<240°C) , the teflon is fine. For hotter cooking, the $5 wok from the asian store will do.Problem is… with stir fry you need the high heat to sear the ingredients quickly. Otherwise you will just cook them for long time and get a soft mush. Charcoal won't do for a good wok hey. You need that big BTU.
I am not an Asian but I can appreciate a well done stir fry and this will not achieve it. It will warp and leach PFAS before you get to tgat level. But if you are buying it to saute some veggies then this will do. So will a flat pan, this is just easier for us clumsier people but you get less flat surface for the actual sauteing…Charcoal burns at over 1000 degrees. They use it in blast furnaces!
And in rural Chinese kitchens . You must be thinking of BBQ coals.Anyway, best to keep both kinds of wok or frying pan.
It's the PFAS distribution system at work, get this non stick cookware and enjoy the endocrine disruption and cancer!
thanks OP. got one.
Tried to order but won't delivery. Area seems quite restrictive.
Thanks op. Just got one. WA
Thanks so much! Got 2, even if they only last half as long as the other woks I was considering, at this price 2 cost half of what I was going to spend…
Thank op got 1
Appreciate it OP, grabbed one. 😊
oos too late
I had this pan, but the handle broke after a year.
Replace with this, double price but much better https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/156386681932
damn OOS, how u guys still awake at this hour??
OzBargain never sleeps
Don't buy non stick anything. Stick to stainless.
I think you mean carbon steel, for woks
Personally I'd stick to carbon steel for all my frypans (not just woks)
I have stainless steel, blue steel (basically carbon steel), and cast iron.
Unfortunately have a lot of non stick stuff as well.
Agree. Just switched to stainless. It’s not PFOA in the nonstick pans that’s a risk, it’s the fact that the nonstick coating is plastic (PTFE).
Recent studies have found thousands to millions of microplastic/nanoplastic particles can be released into a single meal.
Tefal’s marketing drivel calling this coating ‘’titanium” is the closest thing I’ve read to a blatant lie all day. There is probably less than 1% titanium in it, and the rest is plastic.
I guess the accurate description “coated in plastic” isn’t going to sell a lot of pans.
Do you have links to some of those studies? Worrying if true.
All nonstick coatings are a form of plastic and it's well known they don't last very long. No need for studies to prove what is obvious
The unknown is whether eating nonstick coating is harmful. We are told it's inert. Common sense tells us plastic is made from organic material and it is possible it has hormonal effects.
@greatlamp: Second this, just say no to non stick. There's nothing economical about a half price wok that you need to replace every year, and kills you and the environment. Plenty of studies on how pfoa and pfte are long chain polymers that act as endocrine disruptors, basically mimicking various hormones in your body. Watch Dark Waters if you want an entertaining dramatisation of the developers of this stuff
Get yourself a good stainless pan, some good cast iron pans (preferably not ceramic coated so they can seasoned like the lodge ones) and some stainless pots and you will not only remove the pfas from your pans but you will have pans that last a lifetime and you can hand them on to your kids
@Jackson: Do you have any recommendations for some good stainless steel pans and pots, preferably something that can heat well but not too heavy?
@GreenRomeo: Ikea sensuell. They use to have a whole range of saucepans and pots. Now they seem to only have a frypan. Quality is far greater than the price suggests.
The saucepans seem to be replaced with 'finmat' which appear to be the same with copper coating on the outside. Looks nicer when clean but you can't scrub with steel wool, it's actually a downgrade
@greatlamp: Thanks, I’ll check it out!
@GreenRomeo: The stuff I have is a mix, I have a Berndes pan in stainless steel which has been great, and I have another Benzer in cast iron which has been excellent also. Got them from Victoria's Basement, thought they were a house brand until I went to Germany and saw promotions.
Basically is doesn't really matter, as stainless steel is stainless steel and cast iron is cast iron. The main difference with the stainless steel is you are best off getting something that has a heavy base if you are using it as a fry pan, so so they have cast iron encapsulated in stainless steel, just retains heat better. If it's a pot I don't think you need to care, but maybe another cook will expand on that. For me the main thing was it needed to work on induction, which is also a no-brainer AFAIC. Don't worry so much about brand, my features were induction, staineless, heavy base for a bigger pan (didn't matter for a smaller pan/pot), and a nice long handle that is welded on so there's a smooth finish inside the pan. If there's studs it's not a deal breaker, but welded on is better I think as it's easier to clean. don't worry about the brand too much or them all needing to "match", focus on the food you will cook instead :-)
I didn't bother with cast iron pots, only stainless ones. The cast iron I kept to pans, including a ribbed grill pan (8 bucks from disposals, it's a camping one but I use it all the time) and a pan with sides and a pancake pan (no sides). This last one is the ducks nuts, especially if you are cooking pancakes or you want to bbg but it's raining outside, you can just lay whatever you want on it, long skewers etc, and the width of the whole pan is a cooking surface, whereas other pans will have angled sides and be measured from the top where it's widest, so the cooking surface is actually smaller than advertised
@Jackson: Thanks for sharing, really appreciate your insights and comments.
Search Forever chemicals, plenty of information, studies and documentaries on it..
perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) chemicals include perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS).
The Forever Chemical Scandal | Bloomberg Investigates — is a digestible place to start..
I would be worried about PFAS too..
Is cleaning stainless hard?
Man, missed out again !!!
Tefal is rubbish after 6-9 months
I have a carbon steel wok but will use this for eggs.
Learn how to season a pan and you don't need this non stick shit
Any recommendation for a decent carbon/stainless steel wok? Bonus points if it has removable handle.
I’m using the $59 Costco one, no removable handle but it’s been perfect so far
Thanks got one!
Gonna be a wok (profanity) now.
Arrived today, very impressed with the built quality compared to the ebay $29 tefal I got 2 months ago
OOS for me
