In a standard wooden door, yes, it's usually pretty easy so long as your deadlock and smart lock use the same standard 51mm cutout
I’ve installed one, and found it a simple process. It’s a direct replacement, remove the original lock and replace it with this one. The 3-pin locking mechanism on the original door will continue to work too.
Can you install the handle so one side is face sideways and the otherside the handle is facing upwards, my door is funny and wont close if the outside handle is in a normal postion.
That sounds interesting, would be curious to see picture of the and handle
I have one of these and am fairly sure it wouldn't work that way.
I doubt it. This lock can convert the handle betwen left/right-handed but likely not in between.
I don't see anything similar in the manual.
Anyone knows if you can use this to replace the standard security door locks?
Yes I did this myself
Also did the main door with the assure lock and got the bridge to do the dual unlock/lock
Do you mean that you can lock and unlock both main door and security screen simultaneously ? That sounds epic
Yes dualdoor technology
How have you gone with the dual door functionality? I purchased one of these (and the Yale Connect plus 2 hub) recently, to go with the Yale Unity on my front door. Have set up dual door, and it works occasionally, most of the time it doesn’t work at all - and if it does work, there is an unusable amount of lag between the screen door unlocking and the second door unlocking.
I’m at my wits end with it…
Is this any good keep seeing really bad reviews for this?
Yep, was about to pull the trigger on this but the reviews have put me off
Yep, it's excellent (when paired with the wifi bridge and pin pad). I've had mine for over a year, very happy with it.
Anyone know of one that can be work in rain - need also one for front gate
My Unity lock (not the one for screen door) works fine with splash of heavy rains. I assume the screen door model should be the same.
Looks like jb hi fi is also at $199

10$ shipping in Melbourne
But this is 149 with code
What code?
You can get a code sent to your email for an extra $50 off your first order after registering
Turn off ad blocker. I cancelled my order anyway due to safety concern - I.e. kids can’t escape house fire if batteries die. People have also been locked out of their house due to flat batteries or Wi-Fi losing connection.
Wouldn’t you have it on the front door only. Why have both front and screen door with keyless handles
Because my front door has glass panels that can be smashed. You can then reach through and turn the smart lock.
Probably wise to pair it with the triple lock kit unless you're just trying to keep the honest people out.

Yeah no thanks. With a contraption like this, you'll just be keeping yourself locked both in and out
Extra $50 with email subscribe, So $149 at the end, will give it a try. thanks OP.

Very bad reviews https://www.bunnings.com.au/yale-silver-unity-security-scree…
Someone broke into my house some years ago and I looked into replacing my lock with these digatal locks. Not approved by insurance back then. But Assa Abloy is the real deal if you are looking to buy a quality product.
Do crooks go through front door these days?
Usually one or two solid boots gets you in unless you reinforce the plate with longer screws and actually hollow out the hole deep enough for the deadbolt to fully extend and lock into the door frame.. My mate had it happen a while back. I'd say yes.

link to Bunnings if anyone needs it. I’d prefer to deal with Bunnings rather than online stores (maybe except Amazon)
Poorly rated though.
Wtf no keypad or fingerprint sensor at this price? Got the T Lock for about $100 and that is brilliant. Was hoping to replace the screen door lock with keyless entry but having to use a fob or app is annoying
I also have the older Yale/Lockwood "T-lock"s with Zigbee, works great with Home Assistant etc.
What about these? Says it works with Apple Homekit, but you need a bridge to connect to other systems, so I guess no wifi or Zigbee. Is it Bluetooth?
Yes it's bluetooth. Its bluetooth antenna is very weak. You need to have a proxy 1-2m away. And the battery lasts 1 month.
works with homeassistant as well in case anyone wondering.
This one works well with home assistant after the Yale integration became a core integration.
One benefit of this lock is you can "deadlock" it with the Yale app so it can't be opened from the inside without the app.
Is the hub required for the integration to work?
Either the hub, or a bluetooth proxy.
I assume you can set a timer on the deadlock as well, so that it does it at night?
This might solve a major problem for my main entrance door - it has decorative glass panels, which would allow someone to smash and reach in and open for any traditional smart lock.
Now I'd just need to find a matching dummy handle for the other door! (double doors)
Looking at these for my home assistant, how do you actually use these locks?
ie, seems to be no key or pin override, so do you have to use your phone to unlock every time?
Does it work proximity with your phone or do you have to go on the app and unlock it?
By default there are 3 ways to open this lock:
1) Proximity - works brilliantly, you just drive up to your driveway and by the time you're at the door, it's unlocked.
2) Key fob - it comes with 2x key fobs that you hold against the lock to open
3) Phone app.
You can additionally enable PIN unlocking if you buy the keycode unit ($79-$99)
Good summary of options. You can also use any NFC card as a fob - doesn't have to be the ones included. I prefer no keypad - the less options for a stranger to open the lock the better!
Interesting - any NFC card - so can get an NFC sticker and stick it on something unsuspecting and keep it nearby incase of scenario of when you've accidentally locked yourself out with phones inside?
@The Hobo: Yep, that is correct!
How sensitive is the proximity sensor? Is it adjustable?
It's based on geolocation and from memory you can determine the radius size. I use Home Assistant automations to open/close the locks which work better for my use case.
@Dapper: Interested to hear more about this one - can you please elaborate? I'm an avid home assistant user, and am currently awaiting delivery of my yale products now. I assume you need the bridge, or can my zigbee detect the lock directly?
@The Hobo: Presume you use BLE integration. Get some ESP32 proxies to extend range from your server
@The Hobo: I'm using the Yale Connect Plus bridge (I have a few other Yale devices using it).
I then setup my Node Red flow like this:
@Dapper: Since a recent update to the Yale cloud addin, I’m now getting Rate control errors fairly frequently. So that’s a bit disappointing..
@NinjaChicken: Haven't had any issues with mine. I was getting rate control errors when it was a 3rd party add-in. No longer getting issues with the core HA Yale integration.
How do you lock this lock? I'm worried about locking myself out when I take out the rubbish.
Also does the hook latch work in a pre existing hole where there's normally a flat bolt? I have an old screen door without a hook
Thanks op, picked up one, after being on the fence for a long time about. These go on sale for about 20% off , up to 30% off maybe once or twice a year, at 59% off, it’s a no brainer
Has anyone fitted one of these to a sliding security door?
You can't. Not compatible. Check the website
Received mine, trying to install it and it all went smoothly until the end… The little hook out of the mortice doesn't retract fully when you turn the handle, sticking out a few extra mm. I need to then turn the handle extra hard to get the extra few mm retraction needed to open the door.
Is this adjustable?! I'd expect the hook to retract fully when the handle is turned..
Unrelated - but Is it easy (DYI) to replace deadlock with a smart lock?
