sucks really hard really really hard I like it

    Okayyyy

    • Tight! Tight! Tight! Tight! BooYeah~!!!

  • +23

Mum "I told you not to disturb me when I am cleaning my room"

  • +6

I don't know how good the C1 is - but I have a decent stick vac and a robot vacuum, but nothing comes close to the clean that my C3 is capable of and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

    • Which C3 model you have?

      • +4

He has a c3 complete. Trust me, I got one too and this bastard's right.

        • That's right, C3 Complete Powerline.

        • Are the other C3 models weaker suction power then, or just a different head attatchment

(which can also make a difference I suppose)?

          • +2

@ozhunter68: I think different attachments, I've got a C3 dog and cat with the power-head and everything just feels cleaner

            • @ShiKu: When you say, "feels cleaner" you mean it feels nicer to use when handling and fitting

the attatchments, or it actually does a better job at vacuming/cleaning?

              • +3

@ozhunter68: No I mean like when I lick stuff off the floor, it just tastes much fresher.

                • @cnut: Are you trying to live up to your "almost username", or your style of humour?

              • +1

@ozhunter68: The floors feel like there's less dust/dirt compared to other vacs I've used. This could be purely my perception and not true, so take it as my opinion only.

The attachment I'm using is the motorised head, and this like it gives a better end result in carpets

              • @ozhunter68: I have a C3 cat and dog and I will attest to it being the best vacuum I've ever owned. On the highest suction setting it can actually be difficult to use(for smaller people) due to the force needed. My first one lasted 7 years and I bought a second immediately when it died, I'll do the same whenever this one goes. It is worth it.

  • I have miele upright (U1) best vacuum ive ever owned (dysons etc.)

Cant see why this would be any different. Good deal.

  • Is this still made in Germany?

    • I think most of the other models are made in China now but this one is still made in Germany

      • For the vacuums the components are made in Germany.
For some models like the C1 Vacuum they are assembled in China only.

    Deal kinda sucks

  • +1

Must have bought my s5211 15 years ago and still good as new

  • +3

Every vacuum cleaner deal and the same nonsense.

Tbh this one I've owned and I like it but it's head is huge and the c3 if you can take the step up is worth it for the attachments and reliability of the unit.

    • but this deal sucks huehuehue geddit amirite guys?

One dumb question: What is the cost of the bags? Are the bags reusable, and how often do we need to change them?

Sorry for having that dumb question as I've never used bagged VC before.

    • +2

      $29 for 4bags. $7.25 per bag.

      They are not reusable.

You change them when it gets full or loses suction.

    • +7

You can find the bags on Amazon, genuine or not. Genuine are better quality and will likely contain fine dust better.

      https://amzn.asia/d/bRVvt6b

Bags are not designed to be reusable but they will hold much more than an equivalent bagless vacuum and maintain suction until almost full.

How often you change them obviously depends on how frequently you vacuum. If you aren’t in a dusty place then you could expect 4-6 months from a bag.

Bagged are generally considered superior to bagless as they’re more hygienic, easier to empty and suction is restored with every bag change.

      • +1

Thanks a lot for the thorough answer

      • nooooo. Non genuine bags killed our C3. They don't seal properly and fine dust gets through the motor

        • +2

Genuine bags come with a filter for the motor as well, suppose to replace after every 4 bag changes.

        • What do you think of these, ok or also not as good? At least they do come with motor filters.

          • +1

@ozhunter68: That's exactly what we used. I honestly do regret the short term cost saving in this instance.

            • @tromboc: OK, thanks for the warning. Will tell my sister to stop using these then.

    • May be purchased in a 16-pack @$5.50 via eBay

  • I have 2 long hair dogs, currently have a Dyson v10 absolute. Would this be better? I really need a good vacuum

    • +2

If you're serious about it any Miele Canister Vac that can take the Powerhead attachement.

      • I’m very serious about it. I vacuum almost daily and when they start shedding it’s almost twice a day. Just need a good vacuum that can handle this. 2 Samoyeds who have way to much hair then they need

        • +1

Another dog owner here… I recommend you get a good robot vacuum cleaner. Will go together well with the Dyson. In saying that, I have a Miele too for the times I need to do a serious, manual clean that will take longer than how long the Dyson can run.

        • +1

          Ah Samoyeds.

Honestly have you considered vacuuming them instead?

Sounds odd but there are vacuum brush attachments just for this.

  • +1

Is it possible to get this and then buy the power head separately for carpet use? (The head you get with the C3 Turbo?)

    • I don't see why not. The ends of both look the same so the C3 Turbo head should fit.

    • +2

      Ask Miele directly.

Connections changed and it has to be able to power the turbo head, not all of them can do it.

  • Do the various nozzles and attachments have click/locking mechanisms? Have an old Bosch GL-30 and fittings on the attachments have become very loose and just won't stay put.

  • +9

Life pro tip: Many Miele use the same motor which has a common failure point that is a very simple fix for anyone who can operate a Philips screwdriver. There are loads of cheap not working miele for under $50 because rich people just buy a new model, when they all perform quite similarly as the use the same motor and bag style.

I have one c3 for upstairs and one for downstairs so I don't have to carry them and the total cost was $60 for the pair and a couple of hours tinkering on a Sunday with the aid of YouTube . They even came with the fancy turbo heads and spare bags which didn't fit their new model

    • +2

      What's the fix?

      • Ferk out the sock with the Philips screwdriver.

  • +1

OOS but still able to be ordered at OP's price

  • Got the last/second last one for mum. Thanks OP.

  • The Good Guys has this in stock for like 11$ cheaper with their price beat and you can get an extra 5% cash back. Not sure if model is slightly different though.

    • +1

I think you're confusing the compact with the classic. That one is made in China and uses a smaller bag. The classic is made in Germany and uses the same bag as the C3.

  • Is C1 completely sealed vacuum cleaner?

  • Was able to price match including delivery at JB Hifi using this:
