Got this from Logitech eBay shop today for $76 delivered. Don’t think there’s much stock left though

    • Must have expired as can't see it, but that should be ATL.

      • -2

Yeah can’t remember what the voucher code was but it gave $25 off.

$91 on Logitech Ebay store with code SNSM11

    • Sounds like they’re clearing out stock for a new model.

      • Bummer that cise didn't work for me

    101

What are the chances Mx 4 is released soon with these ATL prices ?

    • I am wondering the EXACT same thing. Tried researching to see if i could find any hint, but nothing.

  • +4

I was super enthusiastic about getting this bad boy for work….and now I have a $120 basic ergonomic mouse thanks to work blocking any and all software that can make use of the buttons.

    • +2

Build a gaming PC… for your mouse 😆

      • +2

lol ironically, the mx master series don’t make great gaming mice 🤣

    • +1

You should be able to lodge an exception have you lodged a service request and escalator to your Manager? I’ve been in IT management for 10 years. I have never stopped someone doing this.

      • I meant escalated, sorry typing with my voice

        • I think he means that they can't install 3rd party software to customise/reprogram the buttons. The mouse is still usable.

      • +1

I escalated and they told me the issue is the software keeps making calls to the server or something. And then I plied them to let me install the air gapped offline version and there’s a line in there that says it will access the internet if available..and so it was rejected yet again.

There is some kind of open source .exe file that works as a button remapper but again, expect it to get rejected.

I bought the MX Master 3 for Business ($96 BF sale on Amazon) to use as my work mouse as I've read you don't need to install software to map the back/forward buttons like you have to with the 3s.

Won't know for sure if this is true until St Nick comes down the chimney :-)

**edit: The mouse will be a present from my young son.

      • +1

Pls keep us updated!! A quick google search said the only difference was the USB dongle

    • A lot of the features should be able to work without the software, assuming you have the software at home and use it to set your buttons up there.

      • +1

I asked last deal, the customisation doesn't carry over between devices

        • Hmm. Apologies, you're right, the mx master 3s doesn't have onboard memory. Bit on an oversight given the use case.

Personally I just use a g604 to go between various computers as it does have memory.

          • @Ezuku: I’m really hoping the MX M4s have memory but suspect they want to keep flogging their software. Maybe the middle ground is you need use the software for initial set up on one device and then the memory carries over to every other device. The issue will be the shortcuts though and sending a request to open an app or something.

            • @LeoSpaceman: That's how it works on the g604 and 502. I suspect it's more to do with some of the more advanced features on the mx master not being possible to do without software and the ux won't be great.

    • I'm also in this situation. Looked into the process for getting it installed, have to go through this whole giant process of lodging a request to approve, getting 2 higher ups to approve it for "business use", and it isn't on the list of already approved software. Goddamnit

My 8 year old OG MX Master just keeps on going. I wish it would die so that I can get rid of my last micro usb cable lol.

  • +1

Not sure why this is an OzB fave but I've owned two of these as well as the previous iteration. All three of them had skipping issues (where the mouse just fails to track) despite using a mousepad, have sticky keys issue (double-clicking and sometimes stuck keys), and mouse wheel inconsistency issue.

    • Yeah totally overrated for the price tag

    • I have the issue with left click problem that click is not working, which is a known issue when google it

    • Just curious, did you reach out to warranty team at all?
I have found Logi to be pretty good in regards to that (Considering 3S launched late '22, could be wrong)

    • +1

My original MX Master lasted 5+ years without a single issue despite taking a considerable amount of abuse from both myself and my cat. The thumb button finally gave up when my cat decided to sprint at it at 100km/h and send the mouse flying 10kms away.

      • +1

your cat knows how to hunt, rare for cats these days I think.

      • A cat hunting a mouse, isn't that what they're naturally programmed to do?

    • My first MX master mouse is 8 years and is still going strong. I bought two more over the years, one for the office and one for my partner and they all didn't skip a beat.

    • Turning the mouse off and on usually fixes the tracking if it goes funny for me.

    • I just really enjoy it because it clicks softly and makes me horizontally navigate my spreadsheets. It's a great mouse and probably still one of my all time favourites but I interchange with my G305 so I guess that helps.

  • MX master 4 will probably come out 2025.
    So HODL

  • you know what to do

buy one every two years when the plastic/rubber coating falls off :(

    • +2

Exactly what’s happening with mine, rubber at thumb is falling off.

    • Work got me one of these when I started there two years ago. Besides the feet (which needed to be replaced as they were peeling), it seems pretty much as new.

    • +1

      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006966429470.html?channe…

I stocked up on these and swap them every 6 months.

      • Thanks for this. Might order one for the old MX Master 3 since the rubber coating has deteriorated on that one.

  • Rapoo do a cheap passable copy of this for about 50 bucks

  • just did price beat at officeworks today :)

  • Got 1 few weeks ago. So good for work. Need the keyboard asap.

  • That's a very good price! I got mine for $120 during Black Friday, thinking I was getting a good deal.

    • +1

I just paid $120 as well. A bit cringe, but I messaged their live chat and they've given me a $20 voucher to refund the difference.

      • That's heaps good! I didn't know they gave customers vouchers to make up the difference. I'll give it a try, bought it from Amazon and I'm a longtime customer.

  • Anybody use this purely for gaming?

    • +2

Absolutely horrible for gaming. Heavy, sensor tracking is no where near as good as a real gaming mouse.

      • Cheers mate glad I didn't buy it after reading your comment

  • +1

Got it in a recent office work beat the price (against Amazon for $9X.00). Only down side that I didn't expect given how much I am used to their gaming mouse is no onboard memory! So, if you like the horizontal scroll to be inverse, you can't without every device having the logi software.

    • +1

It also has a very low polling rate (125Hz) even when using the USB dongle. Logitech don't want it to compete with their gaming range.

      • To be fair, I would rather they keep it simple while giving options for normies not to mess it up. For example, the IT requests about why my mouse is dying so quickly when it didn't use to do that. (someone cranked up the polling to 4000)

This is meant for Office-type use.

        • Agreed. I have this one for office use and a trusty old G700s for the gaming PC

      • The polling rate is low to extend battery. You can easily get 2-3 months of use and never have the mouse turned off

  • What keyboard to use with these so the features would be similar?

  • Mouse with tilt buttons is better.

  • Great mouse, I bought it to upgrade my MX 2 I’m actually use to the button layout on the two a bit more you need more thumb reach to hit the buttons and side scroll.

If you’re on a Mac invest in BetterMouse

    https://better-mouse.com/

Way better than the Logitech options (more control options. It’s been a game changer for my workflow
