    But not the store… Lol

Mum will say "I'm disappointed. I thought we were past this, but you forgot the store name again!"

    • +3

how did you type that in her exact tone :'(

  • +1

Non DC model.. how can mum afford the power for this beast lol

    • -1

Not that much difference actually, and the DC version has a smaller area coverage.

  • +1

"Moves air up to <unit of area>"

    I could have understood m/s, m^3/s, m, m^3 (assuming rooms size it's suited for), but m^2?

Is it a room size assuming some standard ceiling height? I know it's a weird thing to get hung up on, but I'm kinda intrigued.

  • -6

    dude it's just a fan… $20 in kmart

    • +4

nah, this is much better than a sh*tty kmart fan dude. Moves A LOT more air and is more energy efficient.

    • sounds like someone who has never used a Vornado

  • Has anyone compared it to this ? Shark FlexBreeze Fan

    • Out of stock

      :-(

  • +2

The camels suggest this is the new normal price?

    • +2

      139 and 149 recently elsewhere

    Country of origin Australia?

  • +2

Dispatched in 1-2 months isnt great when thats nearing the end of summer.. Be worth paying a bit extra and getting it now.
Ended up buying Kmarts knock off of these which is decent for $60 but I doubt it comes close to these.

    • how loud is the Kmart one?

      • +1

Havent got a way to actually test the volume but its quiet unless have it on max and even then its still pretty quiet. Have a Linda box fan that is much louder and not as good.

        • There's probably a decibel app for your phone's ecosystem that will give you a rough estimate.

          • @Jonzay: Late reply, sorry, but a decibel app reports a touch over 60 right next to the fan in a 5x4m room. 3m away drops to 54 ish. Oh and thats at max speed.

  • I was looking at these yesterday in costco. Same price i believe. Plenty of stock

  • TGG commercial (so probably JB comm) head them for $182 is you have access and locally in stock

    • Yeah and that's the (better) DC model

      • it's actually both, medium vdc & Large vac are $182

      • +1

Genuinely curious, why is the DC model considered better?

        • I got the DC version last month.
I feel this whole Vornado DC air circulator is either a hype, or a myth.
Now I'm thinking of using it as a subfloor fan.

In term of noise level, it's noisier than our Kogan standing fan (may be because of the size).

        • +1

DC one is so much quieter at night. At medium speed you don’t even notice it’s on.
But if you prefer white noise while you sleep then non-dc will be your choice.

It has variable speed compared to 4 speed settings on non dc.

However as someone mentioned non-dc has bigger coverage of 30m2 where DC is only 24m2.

          Hope it helps 😊

hows this compare to Kmarts one?

I bought this Vornado Air Circulator 660 Large Air Circulator at Harvey Norman
Boardway Shopping Centre for $145. Try looking a young lady. I think she from Thai about 3 weeks ago. I try it out for one day, its solid and stronge, it doesnt make the room hot. Next day I went to buy another one at Auburn HN for price match. The young korean bloke do it the same price.

  • Bought the Dimplex air circulation fan ($100) from Bunnings on that super hot summer day, and it's been great in my large bedroom! Didnt need to switch on my ducted eveporative cooling at all.
It has a timer and sleep functions, which are really handy.
I've only been using it on the lowest settings so far, but it's doing a fantastic job.

    • This review is not exactly positive:

I bought this fan to help improve air circulation in my bedroom, but it turned out to be way too noisy to tolerate. It has a black gloss control panel which is nearly impossible to read, and led indicators which could light up Las Vegas. The build is quite sturdy, and the functions all perform well, but it has a number of annoying design flaws which just should never happen. It's white, it has a very fine ribbed grille totally encompassing the blades and you cannot disassemble it to clean it. So after a year or so you are going to be stuck with a very grubby looking appliance. It is an air circulator, so it rotates 360° on a base which rotates as well, so if you want to change the function, you have to switch it off. The angle can be raised and lowered to suit but is really clumsy and imprecise and feels cheap. This product would be fine for the living room, but my advice is - don't buy it for your bedroom - one night alone with this thing is enough to do your head in. For the money I think you can do better buying something else.

With any product, there's always at least one person who isn’t happy. :) I’m guessing the main issue in this review is the noise, but I don’t find it too loud at all,
maybe because I’ve only used it on the lowest setting. I switch it to sleep mode and fall asleep without even realising it, and by the time I wake up in the morning, the fan is off.

        Low, med, high settings: 37db, 47db, 57db

I think it’s normal for this type of fan that higher speeds make it louder.
One thing I did notice is that the LCD lights are quite bright, yes. But overall, I really love this fan.

My advice, buy the fan if the price is right for you, and if you're not happy, just return it. Lol.

no thank you, i prefer my $19 Kmart one.

    • -2

i also struggle to understand the value proposition of this 180 aud fan thinggy…

      • +2

        it gud

      • If you are not not into the vornado spin, think its just blowing hot air, or not a fanboy fanatic, this fantastic fan deal will probably not blow you away! No need vent, just stay cool! Don't have a blowout! Its a breeze to fantasize about something else…

    • +1

If you don't want one then why are you here bro? You don't have to announce it to the whole world that you you're fine with your cheap $19 fan 🤦‍♂️

    • you keep telling yourself that

this is an air Circulator, not a crappy normal fan, this has different design to a typical fan

People really think their kmart stuff is as good as this are dreaming

  • +1

I have this model and been using it in various locations throughout the house.

    • I have a small room (around 5x5m size) that I converted into mini theatre room; the lowest setting is very quiet during movie-night and cools down the room nicely
    • I use the highest setting to cool down play area located upstairs and at the same time cools down a couple of bedrooms adjacent to it
    • I use the highest setting to cool down big living room (located downstairs), the room size is around 11 x 8m

The biggest drawback for me is unable to control it with an app, you have to physically push the buttons to turn it on/change the speed/turn it off. I heard the DC version has an app…

Oh, if you think, why should you pay an expensive fan (compared to cheap one from Kmart); this fan is a game changer (for my family at least); it does moves (pun intended) the air in the big room.
