    have you encounter something like this?

    android app - setup in aud and i have done hundred purchases in the past.
    last night found a cheap item i clicked and it gave me price in USD (still cheaper than others).
    less than AUD15 but says free shipping to australia, shipped from Turkey.
    i checkout and paid via paypal (USD), and all looks normal
    when i click the store link it will shut down my phone app. when trying on website it will says "something went wrong"

      Brand new store, 0.0% feedback and ships from… Turkey. It's a fake store and you get "Something went wrong" on the website and redirection on the app because AliExpress have shut it down.

      The listing is kept alive but hidden for dispute purposes.

      Only ever had to do returns 3x from over 100x orders. 1x phone screen protector never arrived. Seller promptly refunded back to my original payment method, took another 4-5 business days to show up in my bank account. 2nd time, returned item due to not needing it: $30 reversing camera. Had to print the return label and post it at the post office. About an hour later, refund got approved and money returned as a credit to my account. 3rd time: $5 item sent incorrectly. Chose credit to my account as refund. Refund got approved and returned to my account and ready to use before I even had time to physically return item at the post office.

    Anyone else noticed that there are more scam sellers on AE now.

    ARC welders for $20. I've purchased quite a few 'too good to be true' items and received a little plastic cup, a sock (just one), and a box to hold meds for all the days of the week.

    After the first orders, I’ve stopped ordering obvious underpriced items because I don’t want to go through the claims process.

      I have never received anything that was different in a scam. I have made purchases from scammers, got nothing and that were refunded. I would be surprised if I have made less than 2000 purchases from alixpress. ne3ver scammed, but I bought a few junk items that I threw in the bin as it not worth the going to task for a $2 screwdriver made of cheese.

      They're easy to spot. Significantly cheaper than everyone else, brand new stores, stores with 0.0 feedback or 100% feedback (no legitimate store has this) and often (not always) ShopXXXX names.

      AMD CPUs and other branded items will have words place Infront. "Top AMD" or "To AMD" to try and avoid showing up in search results.

      Yeah, I've seen a lot more scams lately, including from the Choice stores.

      However, refunds are quite quick if you get scammed. We can probably use it to our advantage in that you can pair something you think is too good to be true (but would like) and then something you actually need to meet the US $10 choice threshold.

    Is it just me or Ali now charge GST on the pre-discounted price no matter what? I found they did it on the "bundle deal" items but recently I found they do it on a choice item too. Ie. I bought a $35 item (before discount of coupons) and the GST was more than $4
