  • Could also combine with the Latitude card offer or discounted gift cards, etc to bring it down further..

    • whats the latitude card offer? All i could find was the 12-month interest free term for transactions over $600 on amazon

  • +1

that's cheap!!!! Got it for 550 a year ago!

    • -1

duh i read got it 550 years ago…

        ok

Seems a few people give the ultras good but “could be better”. I bought the Quietcomfort (successor to QC45) a few days ago for $315 on Amazon

I bought the Quietcomfort (successor to QC45) a few days ago for $315 on Amazon
      omgggg not $178.20 from JBHF???

      • -1

QuietComfort is the next model after QC45

QuietComfort SC is a different model entirely (the one at JB's for $178).

      • Yes. What a deal that was!

    • -1

      F in the chat

… But it’s not too late soldier, I think some Costcos still have them on the shelves for 17x? Buy and return perhaps.

    • Lol rip

    • This is the reason why I keeps checking ozbargain every hours, even though I dont have anything want to buy..

    • Not sure why the negs, there's reviews all over on the Ultra's being a great but somewhat disappointing upgrade.

      • +1

        Woosh.
The negs were of you buying the QC for $345 a few days ago, when they were half that price a couple of days ago.

        • -1

          fair nuff, tough audience hey

  • +3

I find these very similar to the QC35II but I find the noise cancelling noticeably superior, both great. I do have to turn down the bass on the ultras though, I'm not into such a boosted bass and prefer the QC35II for more balanced freq response.

  • Thanks for sharing, bought one

    • genuine question - so you reckon the ultra is worth double the price (ie meaning double the quality and feature wise) from non ultra?

      • +6

Picked up my Quietcomfort SC last night from JB Hi-fi and tested them side by side against my Ultra.

I'm not an audiophile but would say that the Ultra's sound a bit better - however I haven't tweaked the equaliser on the SC so that might be negligible.

However one thing I found very noticeable is the wind blocking on the SC.

When sitting right in front of a Dyson fan turning set to max (level 10) I can't hear any wind noise on the SC while the Ultra's had a lot of wind interference. Noise cancellation overall was very similar when directly compared.

For me: I will be returning the Ultra's while still in the 90 day Bose return window and just stick with the SC as not worth the premium price tag in my opinion.

whattttt omg how come amazing deal then on SC.

by the way there is one youtuber aaron loud something always reviewing headphones with dyson fan hahaha

@Ozmrtw: hmm i feel you man… maybe start checking ozb for deals of new version of wife and lets upgrade together

        • @Ozmrtw on the other thread someone mentioned new update on bose app and there is now a feature called wind block something like that. i wonder if you by accident have NOT turn that feature on the ultra

        • The Ultra has a wind-block mode, you can turn it on through the Bose app.

        • That’s great, bought it primarily for sleeping and enjoying the quietness on flight, going to pickup this arvo.

      • Start with the non-ultra

      • I have qc35 for myself, just need a different and better one for my wife.

        • just need a different and better one for my wife.
          same here.
just need a different and better wife.

      • No. I bought the ultra and returned them. picked up the sc for half the price, no regrets.

  • I bought it for $445 a week ago. Great headphones.

    • listenam you should listen to ozmrtw
      kidding :)

    • +1

Tried the cust care to see if they refund the differance but no luck. So ordered a new one and started the refund. That a $67 savings

  • i don't know many how ultra is this? i will wait for the Ultra Max version I think

    • +1

I think you should wait for Ultra Pro Max instead…

      • I think Ultra Pro Max 2 is worth to wait….

    • Ultra Pro Max 3 powered by AI would be my next impulsive purchase.

      • hahaha I love you guys great names guys!!!! :D

      • Ultra Pro Max 3 powered by AI 2.0 is the latest

  • oh my lord! I don't even need a pair but for this price, i think i want one. Anyone who is using them for a while, what's been your experience?

    • Flat sound, if you want a more immersive one get Sonos Ace

  • Does the default quiet mode on the SC version have wind blocking? Or you have to create a custom mode in the app?

  • Did anyone get the coupon work?

I mean I redeemed the code on product details page, but it wasn't giving me any discount

Even manually typing the promo code didn't work either :/

    • Ah, just read op's edit

      Thank you!

    • Looks like the coupon has gone now - it worked for me with the single item in the cart..

Still a relatively low price at $420 - with the ability to stack other deals..

      • +1

Should have ordered first rather than having a look at some reviews on youtube 🤣

    • The code still doesn't work with 2 items in cart :/

      • +1

The code is fully gone for white, black and 60th edition versions :/

Maybe try with the blue one and it might work

Edit: nvm, also gone for blue

  • Since this is sold on Amazon AU, and not from an overseas supplier, JB Hi-Fi might pricematch. I say 'might', because they did for me in-store back in early November, but didn't for a fellow OzBargainer who tried elsewhere in the country.

I pricematched in November to $449 (which I thought was an excellent price), then chopped off another ~$20 with Bupa giftcards.

    • +2

JB has them for $421 now.

  • +1

pushed through in the chat and got White Smoke for $378 in the end. awesome deal thank you OP! planning to replace my PX7 s2e and QC with this.

    • How did you push in the chat?

      • +3

well I was honest. because what happened to me was I initially went through the op link, redeemed the code and went to checkout. things were looking good it was $378

but then I thought no, black is boring what else is there

chose white smoke, moved it to cart and that's when the wheels started to come off as the code would not apply to anything else, black or white, and I already deleted $378 black one from cart

so I initiated a chat saying hey it was in my cart at $378 I can't get the same price again

they gave me credit for the difference and there was peace.

I went directly to BOSE AU website, use 10% discount code for registering for the first time in their web, it brought the price down to $384.16. Paid the transaction with Amex and got $40 cashback from Amex. It brings the total price down to $344.

    • +2

How did you get 384 after 10%? I can only see 498 full price (before 10%) on their website for brand new

      • Yes it shows 498 full price at first but after I put the coupon code then it brings down the total price to 384 after 114.79 discount.

        https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/480418/118352/img_8572…

Not sure why but I guess BOSE base price is not really 498.

You can also ask BOSE to pricematch with JB prior to purchase or within 7 days after purchase.

        • I just tried using a new 10% code and does not come to that unfortunately, just a flat 10% from 498

          • +1

@sweat dreams: same. enricos got a glitch in the matrix, lucky for them….

            • +1

@gazer: When you mess with the QTY (switch between 2 and 1) I can actually produce his figures in his screenshot.
Seems to be bugged from extra discounts when there's 2 qty from the Holiday Offer.
However, once I am deep in checkout, the discount fixes it self back.

    • I tried this recently and never got sent the 10% disc after registering….

      • Have you registered on their website before ?

        • got the 10% email to work this time. signed up for email vs previously signed up for account

    • Bose price is $498, no?

  • +1

$421/420 at JB and TGG too. Good if got gift cards (though same goes if got recent 10% GCs for amazon )

  • Does the Bose 10 off code not work for anyone?

  • +1

well unfortunately looks like I'll be returning mine. was hoping that they would replace QC SC and Px7 S2e that I got, so I could just have one headset instead of 2 for different purposes. usually I have QC SC on at work or during commute, where music quality doesn't matter much, just the ANC. and use Px7 for enjoyable listening when walking around the city. essentially to replace those 2 it would need to match or come close to musical performance of Px7, and have same ANC and comfort as QC SC

    but no

it won't support AptX on my S24 Ultra, works in AAC codec only, AptX is greyed out

and overall it won't match Px7 S2e sound reproduction not even by a long shot. Px7 is more detailed, engaging, juicy. I played with EQ on Bose, nope, no luck in any setting.

also when compared to QC SC, Ultra loses out on ANC as well. Ultras have slight hiss in the ears when ANC is on, while QC SC also has it but much much quieter. plus Ultras have less physical controls. much easier to change volume or turn on and off on the QC SC than on Ultras. the only thing Ultras have going for them is build quality, and even then they look rather plain. QC SC look functional and Px7 is on a different level altogether.

nah back to Amazon it goes.

    • Ultras have slight hiss in the ears when ANC is on

Sucks that they can't figure this out, because it's the only reason I wouldn't upgrade to the Ultra's. I bought the QC45's a few years ago and the ANC also produced a faint hiss. My old QC35's never did that and the new NC700's I replaced them with don't either.
