Quality shoes are pricey these days - these are a good deal on clearance. Oboz comes highly recommended by a friend of mine, for a comfortable shoe.

      Oboz was its own company until Kathmandu bought them a few years ago. I bought a pair of Oboz boots and found them very good for my needs.

        I'm also very impressed with Oboz. I bought a pair of Firebrand II Low's over 5 years ago without having heard of the brand and they are still going strong. Granted the soles are within a millimeter of their life now but the upper is excellent quality - no splits, tears, frays etc. I used to buy Merrell Moab's but the tops would split around the bump cap or get holes in the fabric. No such issues with the Oboz. Wear them for hiking, mountain biking and even as daily casual shoes. Only complaint is that they are quite heavy, but it's not a bad trade off for the quality and longevity.

        I'd be keen to buy another pair of Firebrands if the quality is still the same.
