For those who missed out on the recent centrecom promotion. $50 more but 1 terrabyte drive rather than 512 gigabytes so probably fair.
Surcharges: 0.8% card, 1% PayPal, 2.2% Latitude.

@RocketSwitch: I'd love for you to be right, but let's not pretend that Windows on ARM is ready for gaming. It's not. By the time it is, there will be much better hardware for the task than what's in the Odin Pro, which is a nearly 3yr old system.
Yes, it difficult to comprehend. Mainly because I have different usage purpose in mind that is different then your.
I am looking at the Msi claw as a home pc usage first with a usb c hub due to the current price point for latest cpu gen. With it portability, it open other secondary usage.
I am having difficulty with seeing Odin being a better complete experience for me.
@User7699: So you want to set a gaming handheld like a LAPTOP—with a USB-C hub and other peripherals—so destroying the fact it's supposed to be portable, you're making it less portable and more of a semi-stationary device. That defeats the purpose of a handheld, especially if you're looking for convenience and on-the-go gaming. Why do that to yourself? It's not a laptop and you won't get a seamless laptop experience. The effort required to do that is why devices exist for their purpose. A laptop is plug-and-play. This, you need a dock, get a monitor, get your keyboard, get your mouse, plug in the charger, get the cables… what a mess! Just get a LAPTOP!
Ah, so difficult to see my point, AH the pain of seeing my point.
@RocketSwitch: Dude, ever thought about letting people enjoy the versatility of a product? Something portable doesn't have to always be portable. No need to gatekeep functionality because it doesn't make sense to you
@heef: All the best to them. The frustrations start when people don't use these devices as they should. The opinion is about not being a gatekeeper, but check other options that would suit their needs better being primary in the gaming handheld arena.
That's all it was, but you guys seem to think that because the niche case prevails here that my opinion doesn't apply, and it will work for that one person. In fact, you had the entire gaming handheld community ripping it to shreds. My opinion was to say there is a better alternative for the price for handheld gaming and to really consider if this is for you.
@RocketSwitch: Please consider price. Find me a laptop/mini pc with a 135h cpu and 16gb ddr5 ram and 1tb for same price point.
Do you think I don't have anything and need to buy everything to work with the Msi claw?
The Msi claw only have 1 usb c for data and power. To use it as a home pc, there is just 1 cord that is needed to be connected, usb c hub to Msi claw. The USB C hub can connect to everything in a neat manner. Don't see where the mess is.
You have a hyper mad scientist creative way seeing thing or maybe you consider a desktop PC is too messy due to all the cords? Maybe you like to box every device for it sole purpose… a running shoe can't be uses as a casual shoe?
At this point I really can't see your point unless there is something more personal you aren't saying.
@User7699: Nothing personal, go for it. I'm throwing the opinion that you will get annoyed with this setup. If not, great.
@User7699: Just wanted to share that I just played Black Myth Wukong on my MSI Claw + 4070 Super eGPU setup and it's awesome.
looks like it's back in stock
Don't do it, lucky I didn't buy this, it is horrible, lots of reviews saying SD is way better.
https://www.theverge.com/24105991/msi-claw-review
This or Nintendo oled for similar price..
Sorry a bit illiterate in gaming
I'd say just HODL. this will drop in price further, and Switch OLED will too.
How different are these two consoles?
This is a windows gaming machine.
very different. switch is a 7yr old tech, and it's a closed system meaning you'll only be able to play switch marketplace or physical games, and they are quite expensive. and it's not as powerful. but games are polished and it runs much quieter and cooler
while all these windows gaming handhelds are more open systems meaning you can have Epic, Steam games on it etc. but you have to deal with Windows on a handheld, custom launchers etc. and they run hot and loud. also heavier.
me, I would get a switch, but it's overpriced right now. should drop more when next version of Switch finally comes out.
even with a huge library of games I have in GOG, Steam, Epic, I prefer to play these on PC, not on the handheld
More seamless experience with a switch. This is pretty good if you already have a large steam library of games. Saves you a lot of money if you already have what you want to play.
Even OW starts dropping price too from over $1k, won't be long we seeing the rest into a Tsunami stock clearance by Xmas

I would say, all things considered, it's a good option for a portable PC. if you don't have a PC. because it's just not that good for gaming.
otherwise skip it even at this price.
I'd pick one up at $299. it's just not super good.
$299. I feel like the lowest this will go is $450 for 1TB if they have a lot of stock.
extremely temping at the price
but iv already got a rog ally z1e..
skip it. trust me. stick to Ally
cheers, the 1tb does make it seem tempting
if this had 32gb if ram instead of 16gb aswell
i do dislike the ergonomics of the ally its too flat to hold, much rather the steam deck
The Ally is more than double the price. If you look at the updated review from Retro Game Corps, if that's what you want, especially those higher to emulate games like Wii U, it's about the only option at that price point.
Or you go with Odin Pro for best bang for ya buck or Odin 2. Ally is just the next level in pricing.
Thank you! Can you share a link to the updated review of RGC? I saw one review that seems the second of him (7 months old from RGC), but it does not recommend the Claw. Seem to not find the update. Thanks for your help.
Don't waste your cash, the more reviews I read, the more I won't buy this thing, e.g. "2011’s Bioshock Infinite simply would not work on the MSI Claw", thats ridiculous! unless it goes down to $399, and you also will have a much better resale value for your Ally
Yeah, if PC gaming is your use case, just skip it. You'll get this for retro emulation, like upscaled N64, Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, Wii and Wii U etc. Even some PS3.
Also, it will run those indie PC games fine.
So the current price point here makes sense.
I guess Steam will load on these device.
What about EPIC, GOG and Prime?
yes its a windows computer in compact gaming form
i would recommend anyone with these windows based gaming machines
to install, heroic game launcher
https://heroicgameslauncher.com/
epic , gog , prime all in one launcher
these 3 services free games, gives me.plenty of games that run great on these devices (im using a rog ally z1e)
since the free games are a few years old, they run great on these
currently im playing marfia definitive edition (also free)
Great advice.
So this is the best deal for this type of machine?
I am not really a gamer, mty switch has been in the box since COVID ended🤣🤣
I ask because I click and collect a whole bunch of stuff and never played……
Alternatively, I do have two Gen 8 laptop sitting around which I think is good enough for these type of games.
Sell your switch if you aren't using it. It's only going to depreciate more and more as we approach Switch 2 release (yet unknown, but definitely 2025).
Price back to $1199, wish MSI just piling up more unsold stock with this ridiculous ripoff price.
i c, but doesn't matter, even at $599 will HODL for sure any xmas sale coming up!
I can confirm it shows up as $599 after the cart, don't use the $15 off code as it brings it up back up to 1150ish.
JW such a tight@rse, not even want to give you another $15 off …
Lots of 8 ai+ videos just released, this new version is so amazing, the screen is crystal sharp and performance so good !
Do we know if the new models will come to Australia the same time as the US?
Price has increased to $649
even at $599 they can't sold out, good luck with $649, just HODL, sure it will go down again!
Still showing as $599 for me, however;
Free shipping seems limited to more metro areas. For example: Brisbane is fine, Sunny Coast is fine, but Toowoomba (and beyond) is $24.95 shipping.
@heef: Yes, the MSI Claw has its merits for specific use cases like PC-first gaming, but you keep missing the point.
The Odin Pro provides a more versatile experience for its price. It does Android gaming, retro emulation, streaming PC games, Win 11, & since it's an ARM device. It's like a cheaper Steam Deck for PC gaming.
The Claw might be better for those wanting desktop-level performance, but for someone focused on gaming across multiple platforms, there's a more balanced and complete experience. Better ergonomics, triple the battery life etc, IN COMPARISON to the price. But, the power is capped hence the price difference.
Let's not pretend people are using these as a PC. It's literal use case is gaming.
