Amazon Delivery Debacle - What's My Best Course of Action?

I ordered an expensive (for me) item during Black Friday on Amazon using discounted gift cards and the 20% cashback on all categories deal. The item was already heavily discounted for Black Friday.

Order tracking is saying they attempted delivery twice. However myself and other family members have been at home at both times (we were home all day on both days).

Their customer service this morning said she'd put in a incident for the driver incorrectly marking the order as attempted delivery. Now this afternoon the tracking is showing "Delay in delivery due to external factors" from this morning and this afternoon "The package is undeliverable and is returning to the sender." The seller is Amazon AU btw.

Customer service says they can't send a replacement (even though I just want my original order which is allegedly on its way back to the shipper facility).

I don't want a refund, I just want my order.
What is the best way to handle this?

The sales were meh this year. But I did snag a Dyson Gen5Detect Complete for $695 after cashback.

Well good thing it wasn't a need

Doesn't @neoleo do Amazon deliveries on the side ???????

It wasn't a need. Water and food and warmth/coolth (depending on your climate) are needs. Everything else is a want. And I want my want and I want it delivered.

    Super Albo !!!

    • I'm not sure how to do the Super Albo. But this did make me chuckle at the state of this country when that's our PM.

        when that's our PM.

        Could be worse…

    • Go straight to Jeff Bezos….cut out the middle man (Albo)

  • Even it sent back to Amazon Warehouse, they may try to redeliver it again. Just make sure your address is correct.

Contact the delivery service and ask them to pick it up at their depot. Should of done this after the 1st missed delivery.

Have a glass of wine and cry a little quietly

  • Maybe a problem with the address not being correct?

I’ve ordered so so so many items off Amazon literally in the hundreds and I can’t recall ever having an issue with delivery. Could it be your address is really hard to find, complex or no access?

  • I have had the same issue. Said they attempted delivery twice to my work where reception is always open.

All Amazon would do is refund my money, even though I wanted the item. They said there was nothing they could do.

  • is it because it requires a passcode that’s sent to you the day it arrives? it automatically does that for items over a certain amount.

next time you can select don’t require passcode at checkout I forget where it is exactly but they will leave it like any other delivery.

maybe you can talk to chat and ask them to remove the passcode requirement.

it’s going to take awhile just to go back and attempt another delivery though because they are getting railed from behind after BF.

I can’t afford prime all year round so not on it right now, but what is usually delivered in 2 days had a 1 week estimate. now 6 days later it was saying coming today but delayed another 1 week estimate (usually arrives before then though).

  • Same issue here … will just wait for it to go on sale again.

  • Yeah I didn't even get a failed delivery just a delay in external factors now undeliverable "package lost" which is BS. Driver prob stole my stuff again. Seems to happen often (been like 3 instances where a PS4/switch game failed to deliver….)

I haven't chased up Amazon yet but I'll be seeking a replacement not a refund.

Having the same issue here Black Friday sale bought some stuff. Delayed then say package maybe lost which is BS. Either external supplier delay or driver stole the stuff. No expensive items though
