  • I'm getting $535 via the price beat button through The Good Guys website https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/westinghouse-8kg-front-load-w…

    • I paid with discounted gift cards on eBay so worked out a bit cheaper via that method

      • Just be mindful if its an amazing you should pay with card. The last thing you want is for the vendor to cancel the order.

If its a good deal but likely to have stock then gift cards are fine.

        • Good point would hate to be stuck with that value of eBay gift cards, although I guess I could always purchase another washing machine around Black Friday.

I got this for $566 delivered from AO a couple months ago. Seems like a really good no-nonsense washer. I like it.

    • They are good for about 2-3 years yeah.

i've got a few of these older models in my student accommodations rentals..

and they all start to break down about the 2 years mark,it's almost always either the drum drive,or the front panel

Probably getting a bigger workout than a 'standard' home. Students don't look after shit, overload them etc. You'll be fine @destroyer661

Choice seem to test everything except longevity.

How could they realistically even do that?

      • They run them through a thousand cycles, they can do these things but It does cost a lot to do .

        • As if they take 20-40 washing machines and do 1000 cycles. That would cost them millions.

      • From the Choice website:
Durability testing is a very long and costly process – by the time we'd get results for a model, it probably wouldn't be on the market. Instead, we ask our members whether they've had any problems with their washers, and whether they'd buy the same brand again.
