42" OLED would be nice for the bedroom.. just waiting on prices to come this side of $1000. Almost there.

You're waiting for another $57 drop?

      • +1

This comment is so underrated hahaha, bro is not gonna buy the TV over $57

      • I must’ve missed it. I went purely off the title price not doing any extra mental gymnastics to deduct 10%

        • Sorry for assuming, my apologies

    • keep waiting pal

      • -1

he's still waiting for the price of DVD/VHS combos to get under this threshold too

    • Missed your chance for this year

  • +1

Just ordered one. Cashback already tracked coming in at $116.19.
So total should come down to $1045.71.

    Not a bad deal.

Actually not sure the cashback amount is correct. I'm guessing it's calculated off the ex GST original price and doesn't take into account the Bing Lee 10% off price, so will probably be adjusted and OP calculation is probably the correct one.

    • Just noticed that. So their cb is on full price, very generous of Bing Lee.

      • I'll wait till I get my full stated cashback before Ising the praises of Bing Lee :)

Still even if I end up paying $1056 I consider it a bargain. Happy dance when I pick it up.

    • +1

How are you getting $1162? Mine is showing $1291, even at checkout

  • Best price that I have seen during Black Friday / Cyber Monday. By my rough calcs the price after 10% Cashback would be ~ $1056.

Yep, and yep. Best price previously was $~1160 delivered direct from LG - which is somewhat problematic re delivery handling and warranty repairs.

Bought …now thinking what to tell to wifey 🤔

    • +4

Tell her your old tv has virus.

      • +2

        Tell her it's a router

    • +2

Just bought one for the wifey!

  • +1

Note that this TV doesn’t have free shipping. Just purchased with $40 delivery. Came to $1081 after cashback

    • +1

I got free delivery to Brisbane metro

  • Just saw on Google, tcl 85c755 on a search was 21xx, different to the website at 23xx. Chat told me they don't control what price Google shows…? Seems very strange

    • +1

Far from rare that google shows a wrong price.

  • +1

So tempting - wondering how this would go as a pc monitor…

    • +4

Come back and let us know after you've done the research please

      • Apparently really good. Only consistent complaint I'm seeing is it doesn't wake itself and some people complain about the reflective coating (more a preference thing than anything).

        • +5

You can use lgtv companion to wake it up on Windows or a script on Linux.

    • +1

I suspectoat of the people buying will it as PC monitor

    • +1

Pretty sure I saw a review about that last night. Will see what I can find.

Update - https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/42-c4-oled Plenty of other discussion also.

    • +2

using one right now. best purchase ive ever made for my pc.

      • -3

        pc?

        • +1

          Personal computer.

          • @Eeples: But why? It would have horrid PPI. Isn't it better to get 4K resolution on 32" and smaller for PC use to get the high PPI resolution?

            • @Dollar Dreamer: It has the same PPI as your usual 27inch 1440P so for work it’s great without scaling

Most people will push it back 2x the distance so it’s still sharp at the actual distance you’ll be using it

              • @cille745: But why? You just lose space with no benefits as you are pushing a larger monitor back vs a smaller monitor at standard distance?

                • @Dollar Dreamer: It’s more immersive - if that wasn’t the case you’d use your phone over a monitor

                  • @cille745: It's not the same though. The phone has a different ratio and also you can't hold it close to the eye before it get's blurry. You will need VR for that close with lenses that adjust for the blurriness.

    • +1

Amazingly. Got this the day it came out, hasnt missed a beat and HDR gaming is incredible. Also use it for work all day long when im wfh.

    • +2

Laat year today I bought the C3 on this deal, and it works great as a pc monitor for gaming.

Some caveats though - it's about 60cm from my desk edge, so quite far back.

Its too big for productivity, so I use my 27" 4K for work. That also means that I'm worried about burn in and the TVness of it.

I like that i can sit and use kb&m at the desk, but also loynge back with a controller and it's still big enough.

Lastly, 4k 120fps is a very tall order of any gpu except maybe the 4090.

Everything looks great on it. I was amazed by how great The Stanley Parable looked of all games.

      • Are you scared at all of screen burn in or do you expect to get it eventually down the line like a few years later?

        • I doubt I'll get it with my use case. My ratio is probably 10+ hours gaming for every hour in windows. I also play different games, and I don't use it that often - 10 hours a week or so if I'm not on leave.

I also have a screen saver that starts after 1min idle that even kicks in when gaming, so snack breaks aren't a concern.

By the time it burns in, if ever, I'll probably have an RTX 9080 and need something that can do 400hz+ @ 4K, so will have upgraded.

Watch the RTings burn in test and Hardware Unboxed worst case burn in test. I'd say the odds are much higher that you'll burn in your TV watching letterboxed content on Netflix than by playing a variety of games.

    • I've had the C2 and one of the QD-OLED's and it isn't close - The LG C is much better

  • +3

Have a look in the other Ozbargain threads for this screen. Most comments are very favourable for using this as a PC monitor across varied usage.

  • +1

Been using one for just over a month as a PC monitor. Got a Ergotron HX mount and it has been great.

  • How are you getting $1162? Mine is showing $1291, even at checkout

    • You need to add it to the cart for the extra 10%

      • I'm at the checkout

        • +1

Just checked and yes the further 10% seems to have gone on this.

          • @Igaf: Try the other items though, I'm not getting 10% on anything now

  • How’s the text on this for those that have it when using as a pc monitor. Deciding whether to go this or a 32” oled monitor

    • I expected issues but honestly text is perfect on C2 with normal 100% zoom. WFH and stair at tiny text 8-10hrs a day. No issues.

    • Crisp and clear, though it looked horrendous before I discovered the PC Mode option!

  • +2

I feel like OLED will never go below 1k at this point. Even on the second hand market OLEDs barely drop in price.

Would love to get one but unless I "accidently" fall into our current TV which is only about 8 years old at this point then I don't think I can justify buying another for this higher price.

  • Damn it, I pulled the trigger at $1,195 just yesterday! Gutted, but it's a great TV/monitor for my room, and I don't think I'll be able to go back to small monitors after this.

  • Yikes, looks like the 10% off discount no longer applies

    • I can get it to apply about 1/20 times, but it disappears again at checkout. This is for all items though, and seems buggy

    • Update: 20:28 The website now shows OOS, looks like one of the workers screwed up the deal?

  • OOS now

    • I must have bought the last 10

  • Is there no way to view your orders on their website?

  • Thanks, picked up the 65" C4 (Melbourne delivery free) for $2,563 excluding cashback

  • Back in stock, just ordered.

    • Might have been only one, back OOS now.

  • Bing lee blocked me because I was refreshing to see if it is in stock. Is there a cooling period, or I am permanent banned?

    • They probably just temporarily blocked your IP address (flood control). Are you using a VPN?
If it's still blocking you after half an hour to an hour, you could try accessing via a free VPN such as Cloudflare WARP.

      • no vpn, unblocked right after 12:00 perfectly missed all the deals. lol anyway. not that urgent for a tv

  • Back in stock just ordered. Jan 6th is earliest delivery though

    • Seems very odd for an "in stock" item. Had me worried that some orders accepted might end up being backordered to keep customers satisfied but I rang today and they confirmed pickup was ready - just hadn't been registered so a message could go out. Safely in my possession now.

  • Came back in stock just before midnight, lesh go. Hope people remembered 10% cash back!

  • +1

I had been using my C2 with my mac mini M1 but recently upgraded to Mac mini M4 and it now runs 4k at 120Hz. (M1 could only do 60Hz via HDMI).

I also have twin dualups either side. (Although these are only IPS and 60Hz and colour matching is a challenge).

(Set up looks great on PC too).

  • +1

Anyone else get stung with a 2 week delivery time?

    • Yep, Melbourne. :\

    • Yep 6 Jan for me!

    • Yep melbourne 18th for me.

    • Haven't even got an confirmation email from bing lee when the order was placed

    • Initial estimated delivery was 18th Dec after they were on back order but Bing Lee got them back in stock a few days ago. Touch base with their web chat and get them to bring your delivery date forward. Mine was initially to be delivered on 18th, had it delivered today. No way will Bing Lee take the initiative to get in touch with you and say 'hey, this is back in stock earlier than expected, want us to deliver it tomorrow'.
