20% Off Auto Openers Door Master Roller Door Opener, $279 Shipped @ Garage Door Opener Remotes

Hey Ozbargainers!

We've had a pretty fantastic response to our ongoing sale and have had to start pulling things from sale, due to the sheer amount being sold we are literally running out of stock.
I've managed to get the folks upstairs to include the Auto Openers Door Master as a last minute addition to our sale, which is ending midnight tomorrow (03.12) as we have had to discontinue a few other roller door openers.

It's a great little roller door opener, compatible with the Remootio 3 and very easily DIY'd.

  • Do you sell garage door opener for J type garage door?

    • Hi mate, certainly do! Please see below:
      https://garagedooropenerremotes.com.au/product/merlin-ms105m…

That 2.2m tilt rail is the best option for tilt doors, due to their low travel. Even though the door may be 2-2.4m high, they only 'travel' 700-800mm on the rail. A standard garage door motor and rail setup will not allow you to set the limits on the opener. That tilt rail will trick the opener into thinking it's opening a larger door and you can set the limits :)

Just chiming in to say I have used these guys and they are a decent outfit. The motor I purchased for our panel door a couple of years or so ago is still going strong.

    • Thankyou for the vote of confidence! We're all a little frazzled here after the last week or so, but we're still hanging in there!

  • I wanted to get an opener but my roller door is squeaky as sht. Have tried spraying lube onto the spring and that's as far as I go because I know those things are no joke. Thinking I just need to replace the door?

It sounds like your door might just need a bit of servicing rather than a full replacement. We also do replacement doors, by the wway - Just throwing my hat into the ring there :)

Squeaky doors are often caused by unbalanced springs or a lack of proper lubrication. When the springs are unbalanced, they can place extra strain on the door’s hinges and tracks, which might be the root cause of the squeak. A local garage door techie can check the spring tension and ensure your door is balanced properly. Springs are under extreme tension and can be dangerous to adjust without the right tools and expertise, so it's great that you've avoided tackling that yourself.

Sometimes, debris in the tracks can cause a squeaky, jerky motion. Clean the tracks with a damp cloth to remove grime and dust, but avoid using too much water or any harsh cleaners that might corrode the metal.

Spraying a general-purpose lubricant like WD-40 isn’t great for garage doors. Just just attracts dirt and debris, which makes the problem worse over time. Instead, use a high-quality lithium grease or a silicone-based lubricant. Apply it sparingly to the hinges, tracks, and rollers (avoid plastic parts if your rollers are nylon). Hopefully, you've used the right lube!

Over time, components like rollers, hinges, and tracks can wear out and cause noise. If the rollers are metal, consider upgrading to nylon rollers for quieter operation. We've got some great 11-ball bearing nylon rollers, which last a lot longer compared to the axle style cheap Chinesium ones.

Just some thoughts I've jotted down - Try these over the weekend mate, see if that helps you narrow it down :)

      • This is very helpful mate, thank you!

I believe I used WD-40 Specialist High Performance White Lithium Grease but will need to check when I get home.

I'm going to give the tracks a clean down and see if it helps!

    • Not sure where you are but we had a similar issue a little while ago and thought it was tied to house foundations having moved. Turns out that they had on other side of the house but the garage was completely level.

We are in Melbourne and got RJ Garage doors to come out and service the door. It turned out that whilst the panel door is 20 something years old and some of the springs were rusted, the culprit was that the track that the roller follows when opening and closing, was full of dust and debris that accumulated with the grease and stuff.

They gave that a good clean out and the door opens and closes without the same issues anymore. There is still some squeak as its a double panel door but nowhere near what it was.

      • How much did the service cost?

        • I think it was $250 or $299

  • Compatible with any roller?
    Steel line rollers?

    • Compatible with any roller door brand. Typical ones are B&D, Taurean, Gliderol, Steel Line, etc. Gliderol doors during a particular period had a drum wheel that was further inside the roll of the door than typical. This is what the tines of the motor slide into, to engage. This kit comes with extension bars as standard, just in case you need to extend your tines.

Yet to find a roller door that it will not suit!

  • Hey @GrecDeFreckle, Which battery backup option would you recommend to go along with this unit?
