Good price for a premium local olive oil that normally goes for $24.
Best before late January 2025.

Yes, it is getting rid of short-sell-by-date stock. That's what CBM do!
More critical issue for a buyer is 'how good is the oil?' and has it been stored well?
Good oil, kept cool and in the dark? I wouldn't get too exercised about a looming 'Best Before'.
Exactly.
Best before date is purely a guide.
Olive oil is definitely best fresh, but I'll be very surprised if this doesn't taste pretty good. Certainly better than most European olive oils you get in the supermarket. I've bought close to BB days olive oil from Cheaper Buy Miles before and it was perfectly fine.
Olive oil will have a 2 year best before, so this will be from Jan 2023.
At $20lt, there is definitely fresher stuff for less (on sale) we can get in WA at least.
Not necessarily. Smaller producers often won't put a 2 year best before date, particularly for their premium offerings.
My guess is this is from Jan 2024.
I generally buy WA olive oil these days, as there's a brand I like that sells in 2l casks for a good price, and cheaper than this per litre for the latest vintage.
A 500ml bottle is handy to take camping, so I thought it was worth a punt.
I keep cleaned-out 250ml bottles for that purpose - but that's the right sort of use-case for smaller bottles.
Also Cheaper Buy Miles just has deals all the time. Especially on cheese.
Just 2 months until expiry..seems more like getting rid of stock than a deal
