MSI Prestige 14 AI Evo 14" Laptop: Core Ultra 5 125H, 16GB / 512GB, FHD+ 144hz $1399 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

110

Just scored this deal in store:

$1015 for the laptop
$152 for extended warranty out to 2029

Total: $1167

Currently $1399 on their website but price matching Scorptec and MSY and others worked.

Pretty good specs for a school laptop for my son

In store customer service rep offered the additional savings above.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • a 14" with upgradable RAM is a plus.

  • how will this handle 3 monitors running large database spreadsheets?

  • Will they sell the laptop only at $1015?

    • Not sure but i do have separate receipts for each, so one order showing the laptop alone at $1015

    • There is a post on Reddit /Australia right now. The extended warranty have a 14 day cooling off period for refunds. Just get the deal and refund the warranty.

  • That at jb or this at ow?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879369

    • This was at JB Hifi

      • Sorry I misread.

I'd personally go the OLED model and the better processor, however I am responsible with my OLED screens and don't leave everything open all day long, hide the taskbar and so forth.

I don't trust my son that much.

        • Different screen size, but for young kids, better buy him something 'tougher' to live with, and MSI build quality always a bit questionable.

    • You can only get that deal in store and at random regional stores at least in NSW by the looks of it

Who knows if they are demo models as well

  • I still think the officeworks deal is better because it is ultra 7 and oled

    • +1

I agree with this, but I was avoiding the OLED screen as it's for my son not myself, and I am certain he would end up with screen burn or similar.

For school use, considering most things are cloud centric now, he won't notice the difference between the two cpu's

      • Did the extra warranty cover accident damage? I also need one for my son

        • No it won't cover user damage, just hardware failure

          • @kernelghost: I assume the warranty is through jb and not MSI?

          • @kernelghost: FYI the deal title should be the price as displayed on JB Hi-Fi's website, if you are posting negotiated and price matching deals, the negotiated or price-matched details should be in the description only. Not in the title. It's up to the store management to decide whether they allow price matching so it's not guaranteed to work for everyone.

            Thanks for understanding.

  • Its $1169 at MSY, how did OP get it for $1015? Did JB happy to even go lower after PM?

    • Op said in the store. Also he paid extra warranty. Its very common tactic by salesperson

      • i see, so while in store, can always try to squeeze them for a much lower price, of coz once he paid extra for extended warranty, then ended up almost the same price as MSY, let's see tomorrow Cyber Monday we will get anymore surprising deals.
