Fantastic album. Only surpassed by Justice in my opinion. Or Lightning , I don’t know now.

Oof, tough call. Depends what mood I'm in, personally.

Peak Metallica. Close but peak big4 album too IMO.

Fairly certain master of puppets is the best Metallica album ever made, according to most fans

For me it's actually death magnetic, easily their most underrated album too.

      • I agree!

      • +2

Unpopular vote but IMO Black album is my favourite. It's all banger. I also love Justice.

Fun fact: cars used to have vinyl record players.

    • now you can get those ridiculous burger things for true transportability

    • I'd have to search Google to prove it, but we had a battery powered (and/or cable) "ghetto blaster" with a vinyl player. It was weird then, and it's weird now.

….uh Fuel is on neither of the albums in this deal.

    • neither is Mechanix

      • That's because Dave Mustane will cry if they do. That's my material!

    Thanks OP got both 🙏

  • Did they ever release No Life 'til Leather on vinyl? I can only find pre-owned copies online, and most likely bootlegs. I'd throw all my money on an authentic sealed copy.

    • Nah, it will probably never get an official release on vinyl as supposedly Metallica don't own the rights to the original recording (Metallus Maximus Music do), and neither likely have the master tape used for the demo tape anymore anyway. Almost all copies of the tape that people have from the 80s are bootlegs too.
If you want a vinyl this is probably the best presently, but it's of course a bootleg. Grab it while it's not crazy expensive maybe?

Can you listen to this on your commute to work?

  • As with most bands back in the day, their early stuff was the best,
before they got rich and comfortable.
Can remember the day back in the 80’s in college when a friend lent me this cd to listen to.
    Blew my country bumpkin mind.
and eventually led me to being a Pantera fan.
And now I just heard the Indian metal band Bloodywood.
Don’t care that they started out as as a parody act, love it .

You know that when you leave school it's ok to like different things?

    "Come crawling faster,
obey your master" - just recently re-listened to all their albums and it struck me - wait a second, it's about the drugs! Now the song makes perfect sense to me (the pleasure part, the withdrawal). This secret lived with me for 38 years ;)

    • Innocence is a wonderful thing..

"Chop your breakfast on a mirror
      Taste me, you will see
      More is all you need
      Dedicated to
      How I'm killing you…"

    • The whole album is about different modes of being enslaved. Damage challenges it a bit at the end. Same level of specifically fitting musicality in every song. Never seen it described as a concept album but it really is. Masterpiece.

  • If buying from US will these be region locked?
