Machine language?
To put it simply, machine language is the underlying code that a CPU uses to do stuff. Incidentally, even if you were writing imitation retro games you wouldn't use machine code - you don't need machine code to generate simple graphics. These would be coded in C/C++ and compiled for the controller's architecture.
Or just written in Java or another modern high level language - even easier.
Personally I disagree that Java is easier than C/C++, not to mention the cost in efficiency which could be an issue for a limited architecture like the one used in this controller, but anyway…
You can think whatever you like about how C and Java compare, but it is pretty clear that most of the industry disagrees( Andoid doing any good?). The only big C/C++ projects still being worked on I am aware of are either very low level or stuck for maintenance reasons.
……
And end up being 50 times the size (yes, I'm an assembly language programmer… a dying breed).
Sorry Bruce, but you're wrong about that. Besides which, it wasn't due to ease of programming that Java was chosen for Android. Byte code allows software to be written and built once for use on unknown CPU & architecture configurations, for which there were many in early smart phones, which was maintained across to the new generations (ie, Android). They also run it in a virtual machine making it more secure & stable.
FWIW, I don't have problems with Java as a language / platform, it certainly has its advantages and I've used it many times before. I just disagree that it's easier to code with.
Getting back to the topic you don't code in machine language, would be a lot of zeros and ones, thought maybe I missed something, why I asked
Most commercial applications are C+ including stuff like media players, antivirus software, videogames, OS, database it produces better results (speed, size, stablity) and sometimes an interpreted language can't be used
Java is portable thus why it gets used a lot for web applications
That's my 2c
this argument shows itself simply as binary

Looks like rip-offs of NES and Atari games? If so, not a bargain.
Always wanted the HD remake of SF2 though…

I can't see any branded/licenced titles, which isn't a surprise but the point of playing retro games is to relive the experience you had as a child. You're not going to get that by playing games you've never played before.
Well, with such well known games as "Star", "Shoot", and "Pillar", I bet this will sell like hotcakes. Also, people can never get enough of games that basically come down to "catch the pixel", "move the pixel", "shoot the pixel", "find the pixel" and "Look! Two pixels!".
no different from the last MW series.. just Polygon releasing flying Polygon that hit other Polygon. And Polygon will legs that can jump into Polygon with blades ontop. As an added bonus there is simulated flying
Your crazy dude
and "Look! Two pixels!"
love your work :)
I hope it's got my favorite game: "I can't believe it's not Pixel!" (i.e. an OFF button)Lol @ Assart as a game name.
Is this hdmi?
Sweet, highway crossing frog!!!
OMFG…they used the word Frog.
Should have called it Toader.
Run retro games for free with an emulator on your PC/Mac/phone.
Wow, watch my red square smash your green square.

So I'm thinking there's a few here that may not be getting this for Xmas!!!
It'd be nice of Big W to tell you what those games are or some screenshots so we can see whether they are genuine retro games or imitations coded in machine language.
