    No deal 🙅‍♂️

The Costco Shop Card will be fulfilled over two instalments in accordance with clause 11 of these terms and conditions. The first being available to members in approximately month 3 of membership and the second issued in month 7 of membership.

You would save much more churning through other health insurance offers over that period.

In years of churning, it has been my experience that NIB offers are never worth switching to.

    • Can you please than guide me that will be the best insurance to look for family cover. Cheers

      • -1

        Family cover for what?

Health insurance is highly regulated in Australia - all the products are similar. Hospital cover is standardised across Basic to Gold tiers, Extras are not standardised.

Read info from here https://privatehealth.gov.au/ then come back when you have a less vague request.

        • Can you give an overview of what health insurance providers I should be churning to and when? I’m currently on just extras. I read a while ago someone posted something similar where they were switching every 6 months while their benefits got refreshed but it had to be before a particular month like june?

@nicolascage: A health insurer resets the extras limits in accordance with its own Fund Rules.

If 'limit reset' is what you are after, then switch to a fund that either just (recently) reset its limits or is soon to reset its limits.

Funds reset limits on 1 January, 1 July, or Anniversary Date (Date of Joining).

A quick Google will give you a list of limit reset dates or see the individual fund sites.

            For example:

  • We used to get complimentary annual checks with Bupa, now we have to pay a gap fee at our dentist since we joined Frank.
Does anyone recommend any other private insurance providers? Preferably ones that current offer promotions.

    • +2

There is not a moment in time that Bupa doesn't have a promotion. You could switch back unless you're in Bupa's exclusion period for promotions.

As a regular churner, my advice is to look beyond the fee you'll pay at the dentist as, by churning, you'll save much more.

Have you checked OzBargain for current promotions? Various are on offer at the moment. There always are.

    • you could ask your dentist which health fund covers more, or which health fund allows adjustment in prices of procedures.. my dentist has told me which works 2 health funds work best with them and i just wait for 6 week offers to churn. I churn through 3-4 funds a year.

  • I have seen a few hospitals not accepting NIB insurance, not sure why.

    • really? which? I was gonna switch tomorrow

A quick Google would give you the answer.

        • -1

probably none. I never liked any replies with words like trust me bro or google without defending

          • -1

@welcomeUniverseWorld: It seems that you frequently receive such replies. Maybe you should try using Google? Worth a thought.

            • @YesPleaseThankYou: Talked with NIB directly. They have no knowledge of such with hospitals around me in western sydney. I find it baseless to make such bold wider statement without being able to back it up with specifics. Maybe there are some in other parts of Aus. One should be able to back up his own words always!

              • +1

                @welcomeUniverseWorld:

And if you talk about …

In all honesty, I have no idea what your posts are about.

                • @YesPleaseThankYou: This is about NIB.

NIB have issues with St Vincent.
BUPA & AHSA has issue with Healscope hospitals (some not all).

Specifics matter rather than general fear mongering. It is which I asked why one you know of? Most hospitals in Australia covers most health insurances.
