I can't see the price, but any 11be access point without a 6ghz radio seems like a waste to me.

There's also a note about it on the TP-Link product page noting that 240mhz width on 5ghz may not be available in Australia. Presumably because there's no contiguous 240mhz on 5ghz available here + the radio may not support non-contiguous 240mhz.

Best not to be paying the extra for something they haven't really implemented properly.

I suspect the only situation where it would be faster was if you had 11be clients AND had all the units with wired backhaul, which is where the 2.5gbit ports would start to matter.

      • Thanks so much for chiming in. It’s been a bit overwhelming to understand all the trade offs and differences.

I would be using them with a wired backhaul.

Currently don’t have any 11be clients and probably wouldn’t for a few years at least ha.

It’s listed at $364, so given the price difference would the AXE5400 what would you go with in this case?

  • It has been this price for a while. I was waiting to see if there would be any Black Friday deals but nothing came close. I am keen on this mesh cause i think the 6GHz band might make a big difference. Dont need the 2.5Gbps port of the pro

  • Can this non-pro XE75 max out the wifi internet speed for a 1000Mbps NBN connection ? I just upgraded to FTTP and not sure if WiFi 7 is worth it (TP-Link Deco BE11000 for $1000+) or the pro version of the XE75

    • I use pro version and easily max out the nbn line. Don’t need wifi 7 since were way behind on that technology and you need wifi6e now more then ever. Id reckon you can max it out on nonpro as well since the line is 1gbps from nbn.

  • No stock until Dec 31 but Bing Lee price matched it at $500, close enough for me. Cheers

  • Can anyone confirm if this supports forcing a device to a particular node? I see TPLink introduced the feature it for some models but want to be sure this has it.

Yes it does, there is a "connection preference" screen for all connected devices where you can select a preferred Deco to connect to and a preferred band to use

      • Thanks buddy. Think it might be time to replace the Orbi RBK50 and this looks like the best bang for buck step up.

  • How are the GG in terms of accepting returns compared to JB?

  • Just picked mine up from bunnings. They price beat good guys so came down to $400.50.

    • Damn, I thought they didn't match commercial prices. Got them mixed up with OW.

      • They may not, the lady at bunnings just never checked.
