Price nearly back to last year’s ATL. This looks like Gen 4. Good option vs a lot of the other gaming headsets around.
Same price for Xbox and PC/PS5 versions

I would argue with this. I've had my Astro Gen 3 for about 8 years now and its never faulted me. Excellent quality and comfort. My biggest issue is that Gen 4 isn't as comfortable as they made the earcup a bit smaller. Note that if you have a multi setup like PS and Xbox then the Gen 5 is what you looking for as it supports both but its not cheap.
I've got gen 1 and they have been brilliant, need a refresh now though and have been looking at a lot of options.
RRP of $599 is a joke though. normal price is probably $479 so its around 25-30% off
Nah fully agree, at the RRP its stupid lol. Still awesome quality and hard to match other headsets but its a stupid price. The OP $299 is what the normal price should be in my opinion.
Mine faulted me after a year in that the terrible usb port broke and now the whole headset is useless because there’s no way to use it without the base connected. The lack of aux on the head headset directly is a huge fail for the price they are
Are you able to list a cheaper comparable product?
I'm still using my Gen 3 set. I originally bouggt them for Xbox, but then just bought a PS base station from the Gamesmen, and now I can use them on both consoles. Highly rate my Gen 3's, $299 is very tempting to update.
I just broke my old A40s this is tempting
I think this is a far better deal at 64% off! Damn these look cool 😎
Razer Barracuda X (2022) PUBG: Battlegrounds Edition.
Someone can post this as a deal as I can’t be bothered.
Judging by the reviews, it looks like they’re still plagued with problems.
I would rather spend another $180 for these: https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/audeze-maxwell-wirel…
So much $$ just for the convenience of wireless. I've heard they aren't comfortable as well
Do Astro headsets sound good these days? My last was an A40 TR, not sure what gen they are. Before that the A30s with the mixamp that had the "good version" of dolby surround, before all their mixamps started sounding metallic like they had reverb applied. I still have them both around somewhere, I hope the A30's mixamp still works.
I currently use a pair of IEMs, rate them over headsets and would go as far as saying they sound better than anything mention in this post
Micro usb is a concern
these are so overpriced
