  • Since it follows the classic Xiaomi M365 / Pro 2 scooter design there should be no shortage of spare parts around AliExpress and other places. Especially if you wanted to swap out the tyres for tubed tyres or simply replacements down the track.

    • why would one want to swap tyres for tubed tyres? wouldn't the non-tubed be better quality/superior design since it cannot be deflated? Happy to be educated on merits of tubed tyre.
Note, I have the Xiaomi Mi Pro 2 and its a hassle changing the tyre - both are deflated and tutorials on youtube make it out to be a hard few hours change them - for that reason alone, I'd prefer something that needs changing less often

      • Non tubed don't absorb as much shock from the road so much more shakey

  • $200 rebate in qld?
    nvm, no funding left

    • +2

It would have met the criteria yeah. What a shame because $99 would have been easily the best escooter bargain ever.

  • Is this similar spec to the Beam scooters?

    • +2

The refurb Beam scooters are the commericial/rental equivalent to a Segway G30. They're a better scooter if you're in Qld and can pick one up.

  • Seems like a very good deal. What is the catch?

Battery capacity? But I have an e-bike for longer distances. Want something lightweight, for shorter distances, and can take on the train at peak times. Buy?

    • For me it's mostly that it can only go 20k, and that's based on being 15kph speed with a dude a good 10 kilos less than my fat ass.

Been waiting for more comments to come along and point out the catch too. Might bite the bullet just for the fun of (profanity) around locally on it for 300.

  • So legal everywhere except NSW & SA

    • And SA

    • IIRC SA has introduced a bill to make them legal

  • isnt this a better deal with a little more money? 40km max speed

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Electric-Scooter-Battery-Scooter-C…

    • +1

That one isn't shipped by Amazon but the seller itself which can be risky. You won't have the benefit of Amazon protections like returns or easy refunds if there's issues. Warranty will be in the Chinese seller's hands.

While the speed would certainly be true the range on the battery size that's pretty much identical to this isn't possible. Unless it was like a <50kg person doing <10km/h on a flat surface.

The reviews around build quality on that one is a concern too.

    • 900 watt motor i find that hard to believe.

      • Realistically it could be a 600W motor with peak 900W power.

    • reviews aren't great - in fact, they're bad… wouldn't recommend

  • Recommended age 10+. Can’t see any issues putting a 10 year old on a powered scooter which hits 25kmph.

    • My 6 year old can cycle 25km/h (briefly) so if you’re not riding on the road, what’s the problem?

      • Bikes are different to scooters. And going 25kmph on a road is actually considerably easier than on the average footpath.

  • Where is scooter hater JV, he hasn't made a negative comment yet.

  • Cheers, was considering a G2 Max, but this is probably sufficient for my needs / cheap enough to play around with first to see if I'm keen on electeic scooter life!

  • Bought this. This will be my first escooter. 75 kg rider so I hope it goes well…

  • Bit the bullet. Signed up to get a 10 buck code but forgot to look in the promo section so I signed up like 3 emails. Here's some target codes I looked and couldn't find a thread to dump them in…
