eufy Security Solocam S340 Wireless Outdoor Camera $218 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Bunnings

1640

Bunnings has dropped the price of the Eufy Security S340 Solocam to $218. Great for those who missed out on the Harvey Norman Deal earlier today. Only difference is that you're missing out on the $40 giftcard, though still a great price for the camera.

Credit goes to bling for noticing it.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • Is it easy to return? I never bought from bunnings online and not sure if this is 3rd party or bunnings themselves?

    • The 3rd party items from Bunnings are marked as 'marketplace' items.

      • Ok, so this should be easy to return for change of mind?

        • +1

It’s special order so not as straight forward from what I been told

  • Will this work with Homebase 2?

    • Nope

      • Cheers, saw that, wasn't sure if it meant up to & including HB3.

    • +3

It can work just with the app. Don’t need a home base

      • +1

So it'll just show up as another camera in the list?

        • +2

Sorry, yes Massive is right. It has local storage so it will still work and record videos. It will just show up as another camera in the list after you have added it.

But it wont be compatible with the Homebase 2.

          • +1

@SuperScope: Ok cool. I'm considering it as I don't usually get a heap of events or the need to retain files, so storage isn't a huge issue for me.

        • +3

Yep and all you'll have is a thumbnail picture of the guy who climbed up and stole it.

          • @JIMB0: The trick is to point one of your other homebase cameras at this one 😄

    • No but it doesn't need the Homebase, has storage onboard

  • no onvif, no deal

    • Any wifi battery cameras you know of support onvif? I'm trying to find one

      • -1

onvif itself does not really exist but if you get reolink you can integrate with HomeAssistant and send that off to NVR feed…bit complicated

        • Ahh so no direct integration to an NVR that support ONVIF. Damn.

  • +3

Currently have no cameras… I just want a camera I could put up that records when people walk past it and sends the clips to the app without a subscription and also watch a live feed if I have the app open

    Is this that?

    • +4

      Yup

    • depending on your situation a video doorbell can do the same thing and is a pretty good option too, and you can remotely speak to anyone at the door

      • You can remotely speak on this one. You can also remotely spy on your street too, this camera is heckers haha

        • well dang, getting spoken to by the doorbell is one thing but getting spoken to by the security camera is incredible

          • @toxicpuffle: I have one of these. The tracking that it can do isn’t subtle, which can be a positive.

  • +2

Back in stock at HN but price increased to $318.
Now I highly doubt that was a pricing error (fat fingers) this morning.
So if you’d like to grab one of these, pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

    • +1

agree, high demand drives the price up as Garry always does.

    • As expected, price went up to $318 (8am 28 Nov).

    • When you say you highly doubt that was a pricing error … that means you don't believe it was a pricing error.

Whereas I think you meant the opposite by the fat fingers comment, right? Anyway, I jumped on it just before midnight and got 2

  • thanks, ordered
    C&C in early Dec

was waiting for the homebase 3 plus 4 x S330 camera set deal to come back, which cost roughly 900 to 1000 from an earlier deal….
since this is a good price, picked up 4 x S340, it should do the same job even without the Homebase 3 lol

    • i was thinking the same!

      • The EufyCam 3 4-Camera (S330) Kit With HomeBase 3 available for $1099 + Delivery/$0 C&C at DeviceDeal or try price beat at Bunnings for extra 10% off for ~$989.10

How do you mount this and how to feed power to it? You need a electrician that will cost you twice this amount to just mount and install….

    • +5

Its battery powered and the solar panel just plugs….
      Mounting process is very simple.

      • -4

Interesting…. So it has built in battery and you reckon it will be fine with extreme heat and heatwave not to ruin the built in battery?

However not sure mount kit is easy to put on or not. I can't see much instructions in bunnings website. Maybe eufy has manual?

        • +1

I have had this one for over 3 months now. Mounting is super easy. You dont have to mount camera itself in the sun. The camera & solar panel come with independent mounts.
The solar panel can be mounted separately in the sun. It only charges when battery falls below 96%.

        • Ive never done a DIY prior to this. If you have a hammer drill / masonry bit you are fine even with brick / concrete.

        • Three holes to mount which you don't even have to measure their position because they provide a sticker with the hole centres marked.
6mm masonry bit, battery drill, hammer and Phillips head screwdriver and no kidding, 5 minutes later it is mounted.
You can buy for about $50 a cover to prevent rain and sun getting on to your unit to help preserve it but I ended up 3D printing my own version.

          • @sobriety22: Ohhh, would you mind posting a link to the STL please??

            • +1

@Walleee-y: It will be a .step and I'll send it to you via a message tomorrow.
It is a two part print to reduce / eliminate supports so it requires gluing together afterwards.
I print in ASA to prevent degradation from UV.
I also put these anti-tamper tabs on the side as I am paranoid and didn't want easy access for someone trying to steal the unit, it does mean you need two screwdrivers or a custom 3D printed tool to get to the release button on the bracket.
You will need longer M3 screws than those provided in the kit if you mount the solar panel on top of the unit.

          • @sobriety22: Isnt the unit weatherproof?

          • @sobriety22: I got my covers on ebay for like $23 with a voucher

            • @MrFrugalSpend: Nice! Not to brag but I get access to a printer so it is about $1.50 of filament and 3 hours of printing.
(But yes, there were some definite prototypes before I got to the finished product).

neonlights are on but nobody is home

      • Heh at night sure but this is day time

    • +1

It doesn't need an electrical connection. It's powered by nuclear fusion.

      • One that you think won't catch fire and explode right?

        • +1

The reactor is at a safe distance of around 150 million kilometres away.

  • I'm unable to order this product. Shows ss available to order however won't let me proceed as showing our of stock for bother pick up and delivery.

    • Unable to order either.

    • Unable to order.

I can see the price as $218, add to cart, login and price goes up to $436

      • Just don’t login. It works.

    • Just tried and it still works. I did login with my onepass account even if this item is not included in onepass free delivery but for extra 10 bucks. Price stayed the same until the last step at checkout.

      • What was the post code?

  • +1

where and how long does it store the recording for & is the solar enough during winter for it to keep running ?

    • +1

Depends where you live and where you place the solar panel.

  • +1

That's so cheeaaap! I thought my 299 purchase was a bargain a couple of months ago lol.

  • +1

Did price match this morning with bunnings and brought it down to 196.

    • I called a few Bunnings with the previous Harvey Norman deal and Bunnings wouldn't price match for me because it's a special order…

  • Bought 2, still can see the deal

  • Nice, thanks Op just purchased but had to be delivery (which I don't mind). Will add a HB3 and some other non-solar cameras soon.

  • Bought 3 !!!! Thanks Op!!!!!!

  • Thanks OP! Bought a few!

  • Just grabbed 2, thanks OP!

  • JBHiFi’s price
I haven’t done it yet but I think go ask deal via livechat they will happily match, bonus further saving if you have $10 welcome/birthday voucher
Unless they’ll reason “Special Order” as ineligibility criteria for price matching..

    • I don’t think they’ll match special orders as it’s not in stock but give it a go and let us know!

I was able to get jb to price match yesterday when they were still in stock at the cheaper price at Harvey Norman.

  • Cant continue in checkout

  • copped cheers

  • Note that since it's not wired, it can't record 24/7 if that's important to you.

  • -8

junk no home assistant. no rtsp. also they are junk

  • Chopped cheese

  • Thanks Op.

  • Any notification delay being solar powered and wi-fi instead of a PoE?

  • can i access footage abroad?

  • looks like its gone back up to $318 now…

  • Price up to $318 now

  • Gone bach to $318

  • how does this Eufy compare to this ReoLink argus 3 pro (on sale at amazon $117) - cant post link sry.
    they look pretty similar.
I havent had any experience with security cameras, so am keen to hear some first hand feedback

    • Can't say that both products physically look the same. The eufy rotates 360deg. Diff resolution. You can add a SD card into one.

      • Oh wow these can rotate? Didn't know that thanks!

  • -1

I’m switching from eufy to reolink POE cameras. Sick of having to charge the stupid things during winter and they get buggy sometimes..
    Missed a few events..
They’re better than nothing, but still not exceptional.

  • Grabbed one, thanks OP!

    • Was it $218 or $318?

      • $218 ordered last night

  • Bunnings called to cancel and refund my order. None in stock and they won’t back order it. Booo!

    • That blows especially when HN honoured their sales at the lower price.

    • Emm, Bunnings normally issues a free gift card in situations like this, not anymore?

    • Anybody is same get the call? Hoping it's just isolated case…

      • +1

        Not mine.
Mine shows “order taken” as of 29/11.

        • Same. Not sure what the status was before.

          Fingers crossed.

          • +1

@SeVeN11: But still no progress until today? I ordered for C&C and never received any further update (they said wait for the "ready to collect" email on the order confirmation). Is it the same for others doing C&C?

            • @hanofee: no status change for me, it still says "Order Taken".

              no email update from Bunnings.
