  • Electric Scooter with Seat

Illegal to ride in public in Vic

Perfect for daily commutes or weekend outings.

If you stay riding within private property

    • Might be a bit uncomfortable to ride it without a seat!

      • An e-scooter?

        Why?

I was picturing just a post without the cushion… geez that fell flat. Nevermind!

    • What do you mean "illegal in Vic"… E-scooters are legal in Vic.

"Use of e-scooters is legalised in Victoria." - cops

"Legal e-scooter definition: transports a person while the person is standing or seated"

  • can I ride it on footpath, to shopping village?

    • Not in Vic. Not legally anyway…

    • On shared paths in Vic you can. Not sure what jv is smoking. I think he wants the laws repealed! 😭

      • Only as of last month when they changed the law. Before that they were illegal.

      • On shared paths in Vic you can

They asked about footpaths, not shared paths.

It is illegal in Vic to ride escooters (or bicycles) on footpaths.

        • It's okay to be wrong. No need to scramble the tiniest of technicalities.

Besides, "footpath" can serve as the catch-all name for any path used by pedestrians. A "shared path" can also be a "footpath". From the pedestrian's point of view, the path they are walking on is functioning as a footpath. "I lost my wallet, I think I dropped it on the shared path" said nobody ever.

            Not wrong.

It's illegal in Vic to ride them on footpaths.

It seems it is illegal in NSW

Personal e-scooters remain illegal on NSW roads and road-related areas, including footpaths, shared paths and bicycle lanes.

  • I am looking for a escooter for flyer drops in suburban houses into the letter boxes.
Can someone please suggest if this a good one to ride on lawns? Or should I get something else?
