Amazon 3rd Party Seller Request I Cancel My Order

Hi, I ordered 2 gpus from Amazon/3rd party, a few hours later I got a message from them requesting i cancel the order for a refund as they claim product syncing issue, some how a barcode issue. They claim it was meant to be a ssd not gpu. I responded with no i want what i ordered. Also all details on the product page were correct.

Anyone else had this happen? what was the outcome?

    Refund or credit choose one

      • It was an error, you won’t get the gpu super cheap. I’ve you don’t cancel they will anyway.

  • Ahahahaahahahahahahahahahaa

If I am the seller, I'll send you Two migoreng. FFS, what part you can't understand on what the seller said?

Why don't they cancel the order?

      • It’s easier to refund you. Just cancel it.
At least you’ll get your money back quicker.

they want me to cancel it so they get off scot-free and don't get pinged by amazon for it. Money isn't a concern, ill ride it out

  • I also tried to buy that 4070 Super. But look, if they are asking you to cancel, they're not going to ship it anyway. I just followed along and cancelled it.

      4070 Super
      Seller: AUSTiC Shop
      Price: $355
I found out via pgrid.com.au when I set a price notification.

yeah that's the one. But why don't they cancel it on their end? They are trying to get around getting pinged by amazon and putting it back on the customer.

Probably. You're free to let it drag out if you want, but your money will probably be on hold until who knows how long.

Are they a scam seller trying to grab customer info? Maybe.

          • @Blazing147: not sure, they do have a site outside of amazon. Also seem to be on multiple selling sites, ebay and what not. Will see how it plays out. Had 1 not long ago with amazon where it was a 4070ti but received a 4070 instead

what i don't get is why they want cancel and trying to push it on to the customer. Something dodgy

            • @Gotboost: There's obviously some sort of system in place that prevents sellers from just cancelling orders willy nilly. You're mind's probably still just thinking of the Uber scams or similar.

              • @Blazing147: I'm sure there's legit options for cancelling orders on their end. I've had amazon orders cancelled by the seller for pricing issues before.

Who's the seller? Can you link to the listing?

Sounds like a possible scam seller

Without getting into the bona fides of the seller, it sounds like they want you to cancel so it doesn't impact their stats with Amazon.

I agree with @Blazing147 that you aren't going to get what you ordered. It's now whether you wish to cancel, or escalate through Amazon and ride it out over however long that might take.

yeah i'd say it's most likely they don't want to impact their stats with Amazon. But then that's not my problem. I look at it as they are happy to take your money, but then expect you to work to get it back after their mistake, so they get off scot-free.

I'll ride it out for shits and giggles, see what happens

So you've never made a mistake at work before?

    • i have made a mistakes before. If they just cancelled the order to begin with, wouldn't be a issue, instead of trying to put it on me. Just got another message from them. now they are blaming amazon for it. Amazon are now investigating as its against their policies for a seller to ask a customer to cancel their order.

  • Total lack of empathy for the seller when you are only making assumptions of what went wrong.
Don't be surprised if the seller blocks you from buying anything from them in the future.

    • looking at their other listings, I don't think anyone would be buying much with their prices. As i said if they had just cancelled the order , no worries, but asking me to do it due to their mistake and them not wanting to go the proper route of cancelling it themselves, then turning the blame onto to amazon., No empathy for them.

  • They can cancel it on their end, they just don't want to as it puts a strike against their account….if they want it cancelled, let them cancel it

    • they want me to cancel it. Oh well its been sent to amazon specialist department.
