  • any offer for NSW?

    • +1

I had a play with their website but don't see anything for NSW. You can call and ask them to match the deal same as VIC ;-)

  • Wonder how their consumption charges compare..

    • Poorly. I have a good plan with Origin and switching to Energy Australia all the savings would be lost after a year. Best to switch out after the first or second bill.

      • I also have origin plan , but its too expensive.
        Supply is 133.540 c/day
And off peak is and peak is 25 and 47 c respectively

Could you suggest which plan you have

    • Great for non-churners. For the rest of us churning: “ Cashback is ineligible on the following: Returning EA customers for the same premises”. So if you’ve moved mansions and this is your first connection with EA, your good to go with CB. Alternatively, put it in a different family member’s name and different CB account.

  • I couldn’t find any definition of “new” customer on the EA website including their T&Cs, so I have to assume a new customer is anyone not currently with EA. There are some definitions on the CB websites though.

If you are concerned about your credit score, keep in mind that they do a 'hard' credit check.

  • Nice

  • Cheaper rates than Engie in my area so the welcome credit goes a lot further. Thanks!

  • My calculation is that this will give me 2 months free gas and electricity so definitely worth the switch. thanks.

  • Rates are quite high, but worth the switch for 2 months or so.

  • How easy is it to switch to and switch away from? I'm considering this but worrying about the chore. Is there any time gap between switching providers?

  • signed up through Cashrewards, lets see if all goes through.

    • Do let us know how things go, mate!

      • will do…

  • What does 1 year benefit period mean?

  • Made the switch today via cashrewards. On sign up Energy Australia said it'll start 18/11, weird they are backdating the switch over.

    • mine one hasn't tracked yet….how abt you

      • Nup, nothing yet either. Maybe once they switch it over?

        • I am not too sure about this, it says it takes abt 7 days…getting close. funny they have backdated my switchover from same date, must be new practice i guess.

          • @s0805: The Cashrewards page says it may take up to 14 days to track, perhaps to account for the cooling off period.

          • +1

@s0805: They've switched me over now, the $200 credit shows up in the online account which is great. No cashrewards yet but might take some time.

            • @junet: Just got tracked in Cashrewards, hopefully you will get it soon.

              • @s0805: Yep tracked as well, says estimated approval is 28th May lol. Hopefully we don't have to stay that long!

  • what does it mean by new and moving?

So if i am with someone else but not moving = then I cant move to EA and then claim bonus?

    • As far as i understand it means new customers joining EA and existing customers who are moving to new address can claim it too. If unsure, give them a call and clarify.

  • How long have to stick with them?

  • Cashrewards increased their cashback to $270, which would be amazing if it actually stacked. Wish I had waited a bit longer, wonder if it's worth cancelling my application and signing up again.

    • +1

if you in cooling off period, you could cancel and sign up again.

  • It says can take upto 180 for approve. Any know how long it actually takes?

    • Do you actually have to stay with them until approval too?

  • Anyone have any success stacking this with shopback $171?

    • no, Shopback is doggy in this case, it redirects you to another comparison websitewww.econnex.com.au and it does NOT cover the Energy Australia Flexi Plans.
The Shopback and its www.econnex.com.au locks the options to other expensive plans.
      — that's my lessons learnt and I wasn't able to figure it out to return to the Cashrewards side cashback.

Cashrewards directs you to Energy Australia website directly and you would be able to select its Flexi Plans for the additional $200+ $300 credits, plus the Cashrewards cashback.

  • Looks like cash rewards cashback is only $112 now :(

    • It says $112 but when I signed up both Electricity and Gas they tracked separately at $105 and $80.50, so $185.50 total.
