  • A fine addition to my collection.

  • Same deal as last year, (and previous years): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/817193

If you already have a Bulknews block you can buy another and it will stack onto your existing balance…

I have issue with them. Zero support and communication from them. My bank refunded the money back to me in the end.

  • Anyone know if there's a way to tell how much of your existing block has been used up?

I have had one of these since 2020 but I can't find a way to tell how much is left.

Under my account and invoices it will show you quota remaining.

      • Hmm, it says 5,954.3gb seems newshosting is doing some heavy lifting for me then!

  • Been using them since last year BF deal, had no issues so far

  • Link doesn't load. Refused connection.
Reviews are not very good on reddit.

Is this good for downloading shows and movies?

Hi everyone and anyone could someone please explain what this is.
And how you would use it. Thanks 👍 Shaun

At a very basic level, think of this as a high speed alternative to torrents that rely on hosted content rather than p2p networks. You’re paying for bandwidth on the servers to download whatever content you find.

If you purchase this, you also need to get an indexer (search tool) to find content on the servers, as unlike torrents there aren’t really any search websites. You would then also need software to download with (think like BitTorrent client).

you've forgotten the first rule of usenet :)

      • And that is where the problem is now, the indexers cost money. Cost you more than the €15 as far as I know. I would be happy to be proved wrong.

I used USENET a long time ago, it was the dominant method of “media distribution” then.

        • Aren't most indexers still invitation only?

        • NZB Geek works well enough for me and is pretty cheap, 9 USD a year, 30 USD for 5 years

          • @jrjr: Would this and NZBGeek be a good enough for a first timer to Usenet? Ive wondered about if for a long time and would like to see if its any good.

            • @obseeker: Yeah that's what I have in my setup, I have another free indexer as a backup but that's not really used much

        • The days of nzbmatrix are long gone

  • Thank you very much

  • Comes in handy for downloading terabytes of Rod Speed's rants from circa 2002.

What's the difference between this and the Newgroups Ninja?

  • If i have a newshosting yearly account (unlimited), do i need this?

    • No you don't.

  • Does anyone know which backbone they are on?
