For a balance of office work and gaming, should I choose
- 1440p 144Hz or 4K 60Hz
- 27" or 32"
I have an older monitor which will be used as a second monitor. Budget $570.

It's pretty subjective to each individual person. 27" is far too small for productivity (esp 2 documents side-by-side) and too small a screen for immersive gaming, so 32" would be bare minimum for me.
The resolution depends on what hardware you're running and what you want from it. Can it even push 4K? If you play competitive games, maybe you want 1440p at high framerates, if not, then 4K60 is perfect.

7800X3D / 7900 XTX setup.I would be targeting 32" 4K in that case.

For work most people prefer 2x 27" or a single ultra wide.
I personally don't see needing more than 60hz for work.
Gaming on a single 27" required less hardwares.

For business use, I would definitely go for two monitors. You can get 2x32" for inside $570. Can't speak to the gaming aspect.
ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS is my recommendation at around $450 or less

Good colours as well, comes factory calibratedyou can get a dell 4k 144hz 32" for a bit less than your budget.
What about OLED? Might find a big one refurbished for that price.
