Do they have a built in speaker?

    • +7

      Nope it doesn't

      • Such a shame…😔

        • why neg, people have no taste

          • -1

            @DrDan: They're "jumping at Shadows"

Do they have a built in speaker?

They don’t have a skinny singer in there either.

Do they have a built in speaker?

Why are you assuming this monitors pronouns?

      • -1

Are you assuming they are selling only one?

        • -3

It doesn't matter if there's more than one, anything with pronouns are all the same.

      • -1

        ricky?

  • +1

So tempting - anyone seen a similiar better deal for same specs?

    • +3

FYI, I am using this from the previous deal at Officeworks. So far so good and pretty sharp doing games. Some says colour varies on the viewing angles but I'm not suffering though.
2.1 hdmi is a value up point for this as well.

      • Does it look washed out at high brightness?

    • +1

Specs aren't the concern at this price point, it's if the pixels are being driven well enough to have adequate response time. Historically Lenovo hasn't been great, but I can't seem to find any data on this specific model.

    • +1

A quick search for 1440p on oZb shows that this is by far the cheapest deal for a high refresh rate 1440p monitor

      • I picked up and HP Omen 27q for $280ish, and I've found it great (reasonable reviews, slower refresh rate at 165Hz). Of course I have no idea if it will be down that low again

  • +2

This is pretty dang cheap… Hmm

  • 27 1440P 180HZ IPS, sounds good for a mac external display as well!

  • Yesterday there was Dell 4k 27inch for around the same price. Any recommendation?

    • +11

Those are only 60hz. Depends on which is more important to you.
Personally, I prefer high refresh rate over high clarity. 1440p at 27 inches is definitely crisp enough for me. >144Hz from 60hz is definitely more noticeable than 1440p vs 4k at 27 inches.

      • +1

Yeah 100% this. As someone who owns the Dell S2721QS

    • +1

Probably depends on your use case. But probably the Lenovo, especially for PC gaming.

I have the Dell S2721QS have owned it since 2020ish? I used it predominately for work from home but also used it quite a bit with my Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5. I love the Dell but If I could choose between the two, I would probably consider getting the Lenovo because I am not sure if you would even notice the difference between 4k on 27" vs 1440p on 27" and having the HDMI 2.1 ports on the Lenovo would be nice to be able to play some games at higher frame rate.

Work from home 4k on 27" you really need to use the scaling.

  • For office use, would I get more benefits from higher refresh rate of this, or higher resolution (4K) of DELL S2721QS?

    • +1

I would say neither:) but to pick one 4K seems more useable for office use, as you can make spreadsheets smaller and still readable.

    • -3

Always buy Dell. It's not even a question of spec.

  • +5

    180HZ
    wow
will this make me work 3x faster compare with using 60hz monitor?

    • That depends entirely on you, sir! It'll make the image produced output three times the framerate (if your GPU can handle that)

  • Sorry I'm a noob but does this have HDR/Dolby vision?

    • realistically neither but it does have HDR400

  • +9

Thanks to coupon chrome add-on, add LAT5 as a Coupon and get it for $236.54.

    Just ordered one.

    • +1

Legend - thankyou. Got this price too.

    • Will cash rewards pay if this coupon is used?

      • No idea. I don't bother with rewards or anything.

      • I just bought and the coupon worked with Cashback

  • Better then the HP Omen 27q? Higher refresh on this Lenovo (and cheaper), but anything to get the Omen instead?

    • No. This Lenovo is better.

  • Mad spec. Wish it had VRR of some kind.

    • +1

      It has FreeSync

      • +2

Which in turn can be utilised for g-sync.

        • Oh cool, I thought someone in another chat about this display said it had no VRR. Sweet deal!

  • How are the blacks on this monitor?

  • +3

Bought this from the officeworks deal last week at the same price. As someone said on that deal, the viewing angle is terrible. If you're using this for anything other than gaming I would not recommend it.
Would try and return it but it's a 3.5hr round trip to OW.

    • What sort of angle off 90 degrees can it be at before it's noticeable?

      • +1

Sitting about 70cm away the edges are faded. It's not super noticable in games.
The included stand is pretty bulky so it's closer to me than my old monitor (Dell U2412M), hoping to get it 10-20cm further away with a slim desk clamp stand.

$236.54 from Lenovo with a Coupon Code.

      • +1

Isn't it cheaper as per op with the 14% cashrewards on the $249 price? Which should bring it down to about $214 only?

        • +1

If you get and bother about it Cash Rewards, sure.

    • +1

Thanks I bought one today from officeworks

    * 1440p * is * not * 2K *

    * 2160p * is * not * 4K *

I'll die on this hill, I don't care. Goddamn marketing.

    • But 720p is HD
      and 1080p is FHD.

    • But 2560 is 2k?

and 3800 (I aint googling it) is almost 4k?

      • +1

2K is 2048x1080. It's a cinema spec. It is never technically correct to call 1440p "2K".

        There's a 4K UHD (3840x2160) and 4K DCI (4096x2160). Technically 4K DCI is true "2160p".

      • Resolution was never measured on the horizontal until these bullshit marketing terms came about. 720p is 1280x720. 1080p is 1920x1080. If we stuck to standards then "4K" would actually be 2K.

  • Thanks OP, Cashrewards tracked and paid already, $34.86.

    • +1

Did you use the 5% coupon?

  • +1

Tempting price for the spec, but can’t find specific reviews on this model. Been looking at the AOC 27G4 albeit FHD only for $209. The G1 was great.

    • the HP one is 23.5 inches for like $110. bargain for FHD

  • Any cheaper QHD monitors that only need to be used for editing documents and web browsing?

  • There is another lenovo same size same resolution but 100hz.
Only $197 office works. But sems not as popular as this one….

    • With cashback, this came to $214.14 total.

The one you're talking about, I think is this for $179?

The lower refresh rate and absence of Freesync/Gsync would turn away any gamer. But for office work, it would be fine as a standard monitor, though no support for swivel, and no height adjustment again is a bummer. For me, I'd rather pay the extra for all those extra features.

      • Yep im office worker not gamer haha.. and it will be on monitor arm. I'm waiting for cashback on office works but that's not going to happen, right?

        • You can get 2.5% cash back from Officeworks Giftcards at Cashrewards, atleast that's something?

          • @HiredGoon: Wow thanks! Yeah 2.5 better than gambling with scammers for 10% could end up sad story

          • @HiredGoon: It says giftcard redeemable in store only. Im lazy to go out. Oh well … $4 only anyway…

        • Looking at it more, you should probably check your office setup before buying the N27Q. Your situation might be different, but I know the Dells we use at work have 2 DP outputs, and only an optional single RGB or HDMI output.

The R27qe has 2xDP and a HDMI, whereas the N27Q only has 2x HDMI, for me atleast I would need special cables to use the cheaper option, making it less cheap.

The R27qe is also significantly brighter (450>300), so there's that to consider too.

  • Hi. How important do people think the difference between FreeSync and FreeSync Premium is for a 27" 1440p IPS 144hz+ monitor? I have an AMD GPU now and might in my next computer.

all other things being equal, would you choose

    HDMI 2.0 and FreeSync Premium
    or
    HDMI 2.1 and FreeSync

    ?

  • Cheers OP - grabbed two for the kids for Christmas!
