Bosch Series 4 Freestanding Dishwasher Stainless Steel SMS4HVI01A $494 + $59 Delivery ($0 C&C/ In-Store) @ The Good Guys

1000

Saw this deal today. The previous few days it has been $888 for black friday deals - best deal I could find, until now! From looking at the other dishwasher prices on TGG website, not a lot has changed. I'm not sure why this deal got so much better, potentially a pricing error? This deal may not last long.
You can get a better price with price check button on TGG or you can get AppliancesOnline to price match (I did this), for $0 delivery. Giving back to this community, because you're all so great at posting this stuff, too. Hope it helps someone.

EDIT**
They have realised the price error, and look to have removed the page. There is an ebay link, that looks to be better, though!

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • Damn this is like half price - great post.
$489 is offered from the price beat too.

  • Given everyone else has it for $800+ you would think price error, but if you manage to get one at this price seems seems like a bargain

Is it German made or Turkey?

    • Series 4 typically not Germany

      • +2

Biggest difference is the series 4 isn't made by Bosch but is rebadged. Usually made in Turkey. Plastic bottom vs Stainless Steel.
Series 6 is made in Germany and is a proper Bosch.

I got this off whirlpool. You get what you pay for.

        • +4

I've owned one of these for about 5 years now and literally lol every time the turkey and plastic/steel chestnuts get rolled out here.
Best dishwasher I've owned and previously had Asko and Miele that were 3 or 4 times the price.
          Would buy again without hesitation.

    • TUrkey

  • not bad for a bosch

    • -2

Bosch in name only. This is their cheaper - made in Turkey range. Lots of shortcuts taken to save on $$.

Bosch isn't what they used to be - you have to look for the models still made in Germany to get Bosch.

Think of this model as purchasing a Jetstar flight through qantas. It's still Jetstar - the fact that you're purchasing through qantas doesn't change anything about the quality. It's still shit.

      • yeah can't get one that lasts 20 years any more. still go an LG fridge still going after 20 years.

        • +1

I have multiple Bosch products that have been absolutely bulletproof and I fully expect to keep going to 20 years (dishwasher, heat pump dryer, washing machine). You can get stuff that lasts a long time, you just have to pay a little more and do some homework.

Read the feedback on the other Bosch S4 machines and… will pass. Even my cheap and crap Ariston which is failing has a metal base instead of plastic.

    • +1

this is a great price for a rental, not sure what your on about

      • Too many bad reports on this model on previous deals, especially to do with the plastic base. That's all.

  • Jesus, literally bought a new LG dishwasher yesterday from GG Commercial.
They have this one listed as $878.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Was wanting to get series 6 in near future, but at half the price I will take it!

Just did C&C, lets see if they honor it

    • -1

You may regret it… think again.

Not made in Germany, rebadged and plastic bottom.

Eh I've had a series 2 at my mums house for 7 years now. Going strong. Willing to take the risk for half the price.

I do prefer less plastic in my life, but I reckon dishwasher internals contains a shitload of plastic anyway.

  • Also available on eBay

  • Ive had nothing issues with my bosch. 2 months old. Luckily still under warranty.

  • +1

I got the same model few years ago and absolutely love it
especially like the design of the cutlery tray at the top

  • -1

I would avoid the Bosch models made in Turkey if you want true Bosch quality.

    • If you want a true iPhone quality you have to get the ones made in China

  • OMG OP!!!!!!! I love your work. Grabbed one straight away with the price beat $489.
Plus got Cashrewards cashback of $17.96
Plus Shopback gift card $644- cashback 2.5% bought it to $627.90- saved another $16.10

    Bought it down to $454.94

    • Explain the math here?

      • $489
        -17.76
        - 16.10

        Try again $ 455.14

        • Plus 59 for delivery?

  • The width is 60cm and my current dishwasher is 59.6cm and not much space. Will I be able to return it if it doesnt fit?

    • +2

      yes, just carry it back

  • Fyi good guys wont take your old dishwasher unless you pay 199 installation and removal cost.

  • damn too tall!

  • +5

$444 on eBay with eBay Plus as another option.

    • THX so much! you saved me 50 bucks

  • +2

That is an insane deal - paid over $800 just a few weeks ago. We needed something quickly to replace our failed machine until we renovate in a couple of years.

Excellent dishwasher - can't complain at all. If you're in the market for one, this is a steal!

  • OP a Dead(setle)ge(nd)

  • +2

    Cheaper on Ebay

  • Oops website error now lol

    • +1

rip… wonder if they will honour those that ordered it

  • What is the difference between this and Series 4 60cm Freestanding Dishwasher Stainless Steel for $878?

  • +1

Ohhh it's now expired! Lucky enough to have ordered via with appliances online with price match at $484.

    • +1

      Nice!

  • Still Available on ebay. Just got one.

  • Thanks Op!!!, price matched with appliances online. I ended up getting the installation at +$200 as i have a broken old one rn. Are these hard to self install though?

    • I asked them if I need to pay $200 if there is an already an existing dishwasher in there. They said yes. I asked why I don't need to pay for my washing machine. They said washing machine doesn't need a plumber to install. So in the end I paid because I'm not confident I can do it myself.

    • +3

With just replacing dishwasher, I installed it by myself, done everything from unbox to install in 30mins

  • Still available at tgg commercial

    • Good thinking… Its not there now, damn should have tried TGG commmercial yesterday afternoon.

  • +1

Picked mine up today. Did a CC as soon as I saw the post yesterday

  • I just received this email. So how do I fight this one?? It was also on the GG ebay store

I'm going to take this further. Could someone please upload a screen shot of the price match from Appliances Online or another company during the sale or an invoice (with your details blanked out)? Would be much appreciated

    • +1

As much as it sucks to miss out on a deal, you are being unreasonable with this one. A store has the absolute right to decide to not honor a sale, especially if they made a mistake. They are giving you a refund, and a coupon as a token of good will. Take the L and move on brother. They do not owe you anything.

This happens often with price errors. In the future if you want to avoid this happening, do C&C and go grab it asap.

      • You're right @Boioioioi. Just unlucky this time. My local store had no stock so I was unable to click and collect. I visited the store and they did an awesome deal for me anyway. It always pays to be nice and respectful to retail staff.

        • +1

I feel you man. I missed out on the previous similar dishwasher deals with IKEA. Glad you got something awesome in store!
