Optus only have the premier league now…

  • so just round ball leagues?

I canned them, not sure I would go back at any price. The EPL runs for 9 months from August to May so we're already 4 months in, there are so many blank weekends now with 'international breaks'. The games are on in the middle of the night, highlights are already on Youtube when you wake up. $99 a year was about right before they hiked the prices, so it's 50% off something that was already way overpriced with a big empty gap in the mdidle of the subscription.

    • This is so true!
      Thanks 🙏

Not to mention that they have added ads that you cant skip all over… Not sure how that works price hike and also ads… seems like double dipping to me!

and in the age of VPNs, I am sure there are alternative ways to get the games (both paid and not)

  • I take a month here and there when the games are played on the weekend at a reasonable hour. Apart from that, it's not worth it as replays can be seen for free.

  • A few years ago this was $80 per year. Now $300 !
Even $149 is a lot for the content being offered. A lot of fans are locked in to this or pirate streams though due to the lack of competition.

    • In the UK, where fans get taken to the cleaners the cost is astronomical. They don't show all games and can show no matches that start at 3pm on a Saturday, whereas we can watch them all in Australia. From their 3 broadcasters TNT, Sky Sports and Amazon Prime if you wanted to watch the entire 9 month season the total cost would be more than $1200.
In comparison Australia is very cheap, but it might not be good value because of the time difference.

  • Anyone tried canceling an existing subscription and then redeeming this offer?
