I bought the Vornado 660 from Amazon's recent black friday sale and am a really big…fan.
Went to buy a second (for my folks) but Amazon finished their sale - fortunately Good Guys had it. Purchased from Auburn (NSW) and they had about 12 left.
It's quite powerful for the size and quieter then expected.

its just an overpriced fan
Wrong
Care to explain why? Are you disagreeing with the "overpriced" comment? I have an Ausclimate air circulator and they are basically just fans.
@ak47wong: I’m thinking of ordering a couple of ausclimate off Amazon, but didn’t see a lot of reviews. Are these any good
@otter-raptor: They're okay. I'm going to write a full review soon if you can wait lol.
@ak47wong: I got mine and they’re soo short, can’t find a way to increase height, so returning it , looks comical but cute lol
It does have a slightly cooling effect because it 'feels windy' but if your house is hot AF then it'll still be hot
The latter. It doesn’t cool the room.
Just moves the air around. It's good when it's a hot day and has cooled down outside. With doors and windows opened, it cools the room faster. I guess any fan can do that tho…
Had one of these for years now… I don't rate it at all worth the cost.
For anyone buying, $154 from the price match button
FYI price match will invalidate cashback
currently CR has 6% cashback, which will get around $9
Don't buy it.
It's noisy.
It does move air but its also not that effective.
It has no smart function or remote.
When it looses power it defaults to off when power restored so cant be automated with a smart plug.
No Swivel function
Don't expect to use it like a pedestal fan
Will not buy againGot any alternatives you recommend?

How does this compare to the Aldi one on sale right now?
The Aldi model is a DC fan I believe, so that's nice.
I did buy one that looked like this from them, but took it back as it made some sort of noise in its standby state.
Willing to have another go, though.
I went to two seperate Aldi stores to get one, based on that so that said there was stock.
1st store had only one that was sold a day before, even though the website said they had many.
Second store had none either, but I don't know what their initial stock levels were like.
Moral of the story is that you can't trust the aldi stock listing
That is not a DC fan, just wrong description
@sixsense: The ones from the sale a couple of years ago were, and they look almost identical?
Anyway, couldn't find one to confirm anyway :/
I believe the DC versions are the recommended models.
- can use with smart plugs (remembers state)
- quieter DC motor
K-Mart have a rip-off of the medium sized version for $59. https://www.kmart.com.au/product/vortex-circulator-fan-43387…
Can start to slow down and/or becomes loud after a while. But easy returns at kmart
Thanks for the tip. Will be sure to keep the receipt.
We really like ours. We have two in the house. It's definitely not quiet but I like the white noise it generates. Great for sleeping.
bought, thanks.
stack with this one:

I've got the 633DC medium-sized one, and was looking for another one for our work room. Perfect for summer in QLD.
Thanks OP!
I have this, got it from Costco a couple of years ago.
I like how it is powerful and circulates the air around you (not directly to you).
The only downside is, you have to physically turn on the fan (there is no app / smart button or anything).I just wish I can control it using the app…
that's why you need the DC version
Ah.. got it! I'll check it out then… thanks!
The DC version also does not have any app control. Only one I know is the 6303DC. The 633DC does not have any remote.
FYI Costco have this for $144.99 at the moment.
Valid until 8/12/24, shipping costs included.
In store it is 139 I guess
So does this fan actually cool the room down or it just circulate the air?
