Windscribe Pro VPN: Annual Subscription US$29 (~A$44.59) for 1 Year @ Windscribe

FUCHYEA

These guys barely discount as they don't need to. It's a pretty decent offer and this price hasn't been seen since the Putin death offer at $10 USD/year for those on a very specific plan type.

No limits on connected devices but they may crack down on if you share your account with multiple people.

They have a lot of additional functionality that's optional including ad blocking, content blocking and more. Lots of server choices such as Australia, US and shows the latency always for each.

Not 100% sure if it renews at this price but looks like it might.

Any way to get this when you already have an active subscription?

    Great VPN would recommend

  • *Cries in not buying the lifetime for $10 more when launched

    • Agree, I'm on the $10 USD/year. Never had an issue, even in some more censorious countries that block VPNs their circumvention worked like a charm.

  • Great product - and entertaining emails from them. Somehow I fluked the Lifetime Pro deal for zero dollars back in 2018

  • Code also works for the ControlD product. Takes 50% off

    • Lots af active development with ControlD at the moment.. A good DNS service to unblock the likes of BBC iPlayer and ITVX for me. Good malware blocking too. I would recommend anyone using NextDNS to give it a go, and compare.

      • I have NextDNS and AdGuard DNS from another deal.
Does controlD really add much over NextDNS?

        • I have setup several profiles with different settings such as iPhone, Andoid, Android with adblock, Android tablet, Firestick, Apple TV, IOT device and PC. Control D give me over 5 unique IPv4 address which I can assigne to Cameras and Smart TV"s and media players. Each devce can be assigned to diferent profiles. For example, recently I had an issue with my Apple TV stuttering on BBC IPlayer. I Logged into ControlD on my laptop and changed the BBC endpoint from London to Manchester or Edinburgh (I can't remember which) Problem fixed without even exiting the BBC App.
A very flexible service, and to be honest I only use a small amount of its capability.

Full Control plan cost $40/yr but there's a way to get it for $10/yr for life ;)

      • Do tell I'm paying $30 aud a year atm

      • And that is……..?

As per this reddit post, you could get Control D on stack social and then convert to a $10 a year plan. The stacksocial purchase was for 5 years and you could swap to the $10 plan at any time, forfeiting remaining time in that 5 year purchase, to take the cheap annual pricing. I decided to jump early, wasting several years of plan, but looking to get ahead of any changes that maybe would prevent taking the $10 a year pricing into the future.

I did this some time ago, a few years probably. Doesn’t appear to be active in Stacksocial so not sure if the offers still available through that or some other channel.

          • @Smigit: Oh I saw that a couple of years back worked out similar iirc with the 50% discount over whatever years I calculated.

          • @Smigit: yep that's the method :P
Edit: Looks like you can't buy it anymore, so it was probably a good move to buy it early and convert to $10/yr plan

            • @noshopping: There’s a recent post on reddit saying anyone on the stack social deal for 5 years can still convert to the $10 plan. But yeah, need to have made the initial stack social purchase before now.

              • @Smigit: Oh, did not know about it back then. Sucks but oh well.

  • Good VPN. Recently for some reason though when I select Best Location as VPN endpoint, it defaults to "Yarra" in Melbourne. I am in Sydney. Before it would choose a Sydney server based on lower pings. Can be changed manually.
Also I do get CAPTCA challenges from time to time (I believe this will happen with most VPN's as they have Data Centre IP addreses).
I also snagged a recurring $10 license a few years ago (Something about Putin staying alive after invading Ukraine. The Canucks do have a strange sense of humour though. Even weirder than us Aussies)

    • I think that joke was closer to home as the founder is Ukrainian living in Canada.

  • I’m still using a “3 year plan” I bought on StackSocial in 2018 for $14

    • Mine got cancelled for some reason, lucky you!

  • This vs NordVPN? Anyone have experience with both?

Shout out to my fellow $50 lifetime members, where lifetime is apparently 2x 10yrs

    • Yup on this one too

  • Windscribe is the best!
