Apple Black Friday

From what I can gather Apple doesn't "discount" (unless several generations old models) but rather gives Gift Cards with purchases

That said, what products come with Gift Cards? – Do the latest products come with gift cards like the New Mac Mini M4? (I'm guessing not, but want to check)

Does the Apple EDU / AOC store offer discounts & gift cards on the same products as the Apple.com/au site?

Any info appreciated

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

    it will probably be posted.

giftcard bonuses are not usually on the newest released models no.

going by past deals posted. normal and EDU store bonus giftcard deals were separate. not running at the same time.

    • Ok so EDU stores will not have any gift cards. I guess they wouldn’t with new released products anyway. I think I’ll go ahead and order a BTO Mac Mini M4

      • Ok so EDU stores will not have any gift cards.

they did once. but it was a different time of year compared to the normal Apple Store bonuses.

here’s the one posted coming up soon for normal Apple Store. (November) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/878829

here’s the previous one for EDU. (January)
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/824383

there was also cash back running at the same time. 8% I think

will they have EDU with bonus giftcard again beginning of next year? I don’t know.

there was also this one in 2023. not great imo because you can only get discount off AirPods. I prefer giftcard which you can use for future Apple purchases or subscriptions through Apple.

        • Ok thanks for the links

I might hold off till January to see if the EDU site offers gift cards for the Mac Mini M4. Will not be holding my breathe though with expectations they will. But who knows there might be apple gift card offers between now and January

One last question, are Apple gift cards usable on EDU site purchases?

          • @PredatorvsAlien: I'm waiting for the "Back to School" promotion in January to purchase my BTO Mac Mini. I've already added credit to my account using gift cards, which can be used on the educational website. I bought my iPad this way earlier this year.

            • @RED27APPLE: I thought Apple Gift cards didn't work on the EDU site

              • @PredatorvsAlien: I just attempted to buy the Mac Mini on the EDU website, it still lets me use the credit on my account. Just make sure to load the gift cards onto your Apple ID. There were no problems.

                • @RED27APPLE: Ok great. I just need to find Apple gift cards on discount. Can’t seem to find any

What BTO spec are you looking at getting? I’m considering the M4 32/512

              • @PredatorvsAlien: why wouldn't it though? Apple GC are linked to your apple account. you log in and shop at either EDU or normal its the same thing/store just some of the prices are different.

  • they have NEVER included just released products in their black friday sale
    its always previous gen stock

    • Do they drop the prices on these or just gift cards

    • This year they have airpods 4 with NC having a $40 bonus which is absolutely a new product.

      • if u think the latest airpods are "new" then thats good for you.. the reality of the update says otherwise

        • regular airpods up until now had no noise cancelling. it was exclusively a "pro" model feature.

so airpods 4 with ANC is a big feature upgrade.

I just had to double check this but Airpods 4 also has the H2 chip. which enables machine learning to make ANC, ambient mode and siri smarter on the airpods.

    • Yeah Apple off-loading older products
