  • Thanks for sharing. a noob question. does it work on pc via bluetooth or do I need an adapter for it? thanks for in advance. cheers

    • +3

The new series X/S controllers have Bluetooth :)
Also works via USB C cable if you don't mind wired

    • +3

Work on PC via BT perfectly

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've got the same controller and I tried bluetooth and it drops in and out every 3 seconds prompting games to pause due to 'Controller Disconnected'

I gave up and just got a USB-C data cable

        • Try different PC and see

Similar thing happened to me until I learned that my motherboard requires the Wifi (and Bluetooth) antennas connected. I didn't have them connected since my PC is connected via ethernet.

@tonyamazing: Thanks heaps for this information. I'm at work so I'll have to try later, but read some more on this and it sounds like you're bang-on. Much appreciated.

@tonyamazing: Hey mate, went home and dug through my motherboard box, found the antenna, plugged it in and sure enough - works perfect now. Thanks for that, you're a gentleman and a scholar.

      • And iPad, AppleTV and iPhone - more than good enough for gaming with Moonlight/Sunlight.

Also Black for $64 and a few other colours around $68.

  • I have 2 xbox one controllers should I go for a third? :D

    • +3

Yes, both your 2 will get stick drift. So buy more.

      • never had this problem had one since the first release

        • Oh you're definitely overdue for stick drift if you've got a launch controller.

          • @AustriaBargain: Is there any controllers that aren't shit? I've got three of these and two have problems after less than 50hr of use.

            • @noobshoes: Check warranty if less than 2 years old and you bought any of them with the console package.

              • @Gravy: In the process of. Unfortunately every warranty is wrong on the Microsoft site so you get to spend hours correcting it before they help you. It's great!

  • Need a deal for one with rubber grips, hard to go back once you try it.

  • Have one of these that got stick drift, was gonna get the same one again but thought i'd spice it a little got this instead https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/d/xbox-wireless-controller-a…

    • Check warranty if under 2 years old and part of the console package.

If anyone has a Series X/S controller that came with their Xbox and it has developed stick drift or other issues, be sure to check warranty on it as I was pretty surprised to find that mine had a two year warranty. MS replaced mine, I think it took around 2-3 weeks to get a new one back.

Not sure if this same warranty applies to controllers purchased separately.

    • Wow really? My controller warranty seemingly only had 1 year says its expired on the microsoft page :/

      • +1

Guessing that separate controllers have a 1 year warranty, and those that were part of console package have two years. I bought my series X console November last year, and there's still another year left on the warranty of the entire package including the controller (the replacement controller was automatically registered into the system as well and has about a year remaining warranty, same as the console).

I must say I was also pretty surprised as had heard controller warranties were one year or less. Note that whilst my Xbox was registered when I first set it up, the included controller was not registered until I had to send it back for warranty, but the system knew it was part of the original console package and started the warranty period from the time my Xbox was registered.

MS emailed me a post paid reply that I had to print and stick to a box I supplied. So no cost for postage which was good.

        • You might have just saved me from having to buy a new controller!

          • @Spud McDoug: Good stuff. I was surprised too and just about to start pulling the controller apart and fixing it myself but thought I'd check warranty first. Seems us Aussies get a much longer warranty than USA.

    • How did you get through to Microsoft to get them fixed? I tried on the website and go through all the options and at the end it says computer says no or something, even though it was under warranty.

      • Was your controller part of your console package? Have you registered that controller yet?

If you haven't registered it, go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and click on your Xbox device, then click "info and support" for that item. Then go to where it says "get service for your device" and click start order. I think I was then able to choose what the issue was (stick drift and button double taps in my case). I seem to remember I then needed to register the controller as a separate device and may have had to go through the steps again for that controller that I had just registered. The process was all a bit held together with bubble gum and confusing.

Then I got an email from some random sounding email address that could be easily overlooked as spam or a scam "no-reply @ bbamastro.com"

It asked me to enter my RMA service request details at msreturns.ship2anywhere.com which I did.

I then got to print out a return slip from their website. They were supposedly going to send me an email with a copy of the details but it never arrived. Anyway, it all seemed a bit disjointed, but I sent the controller back via reply paid post and I think a new one turned up on my doorstep about 2 weeks later. The tracking and details of the return on my microsoft account was fairly non existent, just said it was in process or something. I did get a tracking number eventually, but the controller actually arrived before the tracking details indicated where it was.

Long story short…. sent them a faulty controller which is about 1 year into a 2 year warranty… got a new one back. Happy child.

        • Mmmm, a lot of effort for $60.

          • @AustriaBargain: That's probably the plan. $60 is $60 though and was well worth my time.

            • @Gravy: Well I do have two busted controllers, so it's $120. Probably by now the warranty period is over. When they broke though they were under warranty.

              • @AustriaBargain: Yeah cant snooze on warranty returns. Need to start process whilst still in warranty.

        • +1

I just did this, it only took a couple of minutes. They've registered the return and are emailing me the paid return label.
