An older but top of the line zen 3 cpu that still trades blow with ultra 5 and whatnot; Nice oled panel (99% P3) and well calibrated for this price point for those wanting one for colour accurate works; 3050 mobile, even at this lower powered 50w state (35+15w dynamic boost), still beats out the best iGPUs; Armoury Crate (or g-helper, for those that dont want bloat), offers an igpu only mode that completely kills the 3050, giving you the battery life for on the go - 1.68kg is excellent considering that its 15.6'' and is more than portable; Official refurb with 1 year Asus Australia pick up & return warranty as well.

Downside is also very apparent, it cannot be charged through usb-c, so actual travel weight is ~2k with the barrel charger; there is no displayport out on the usb c port, and hdmi is 1.4b, so cant even do 4k60hz on an external screen; to top it all off, two of the three usb a ports are 2.0; you do get the ports in numbers and a micro sd slot so that's the only saving grace; did we mention soldered ram and 1 ssd slot? There is a reason its lightweight, plastic everywhere except top lid.

Not bad specs but i dont understand paying this much for a refurb.

    • Because its hard to find a package with a rtx dgpu at this pricepoint with a colour accurate screen. Yes its refurb but you are getting the same warranty you would see in a new machine from asus australia in - at least what they claim - near new condition.

brand new lenovo loq with 3050 goes for 897 ATL, but comes with a screen not remotely as nice for professional/enthusiast workload.

a lot of scrolling to do to find out it's just FHD screen.

  • I wish Asus had done these with the option of more GB of vram. Colour accurate screen and price point tick my boxes as a deisgn student, but for my animation courses only 4gb from what I understand is going to struggle with Blender.
