Great price on a terrific lens. I don't think I have seen it below $2K.

      This lens was released in June 2019 with an original price of $3249. It's important to note that Sony rarely offers discounts as steep as 50%, and it's still too soon for any refurbished units to be available around post-COVID. So, @Mortin might be mistaken about the price.

        Just checked my ebay and email. There was $300 cashback + I claimed GST and tax on AU $2,318.40. It eventually came down even cheaper after tax deductions.

  Really great lens. I choose this over other options since you can use the teleconverters and the zoom is internal. Even though it's a few years old it still produces great images.

  Mine was around $2050 and used a few deals to make it a bit cheaper.

  Fantastic lens, picked this sometime last year for a similar price and don't regret it…even better with a TC for day sports and wildlife. It also likes my Nikon with the Megadap adapter.
