Because the whisky is no longer interacting with the wood/cask, hence no more aging.

Would anyone know why Diageo would sell these at such cheap price to Amazon? Or maybe amazon just wants to get rid of these?
various reasons..
this one likely is clearing out stock.. probably too little volume to sell to the majors, so they sell it through amazon.
I have also seen it done before when DanMurphys reduced ranging of it, so that all stores didnt carry the line. Diageo is left with extra stock they need to get rid off.
Or if they have a Dec31 financial year end, and they need to make their numbers they may reduce the stock levels they have in their warehouse choosing random brands.
