Why does everything needs a bloody screen on it these days? My jura machine has a touch screen and it’s the absolute worst. Give me physical buttons any day.

There are plenty of coffee machines without touch screens.

Why did you buy one with a touchscreen if you don't like it?

He was jumping on the trend and now he regrets it, obviously.

Wrong. Virtually every automatic machine is touch screen except for the base model ones so I didn’t have an option.

          • @Mike Nolan: Oh I see. The touch screen is the only thing putting me off this machine, I prefer the Barista Pro in White and Gold. Bling bling baby!

Depends what brand, Jura's machines are all touch screens.

Breville still has a good split between manual/auto machines, same with Delonghi. If you're after a top of the line machine, you're better off with some Italian brands over these touch screen machines, you're paying for automated coffee making and a fancy screen otherwise…

            • @soundboy5010: I was pretty limited with options as I was after something fairly narrow due to bench space, and the machine I ended up with I got for a fair decent price - was after a bean to cup machine too so options were super limited!

  • not a dual boiler so you can't steam milk and do a shot at the same time.

The thermojet design works better imo. Heats up in ~2 seconds and is ready to go after a ghost shot.
You steam while you grind if you're wanting to do both at once.

      • still can't do both at once, I have a Breville oracle that auto does milk and does the shot at the same time, having no delay at all between the 2 allows you to time it perfectly when they both finish at the same time. That is very important to me. I wouldn't want to do a shot and then have to still wait for the milk to be frothed.

        • I've got the pro, not these touch screen ones, so maybe they work differently. Mine has the thermojet design and you can absolutely run the milk steamer and grinder at the same time.

The oracle takes a little while to warm up, I'd be finished before you could run a shot on it with the thermojet design

          • @Sir Flabo: I have mine scheduler timer to turn on 10 min before I get up every morning. when I get up I make it. I am done no waiting required. But if you someone that randomly make coffee then yeah you will wait.

            • @kungfuman: So you need to reprogram the scheduler every time that you have to get up earlier than normal? So if i wake up 15 minutes earlier by accident, i simply need to wait to have a coffee? Doesnt sound ideal to me.

    • +1

My parents have a dual boiler Breville that takes at least 5 times as long as this to heat up, I'd have my shot and milk done before they even start.

      • not if you have the scheduler on. I have my coffee same time every morning it auto turns on before I wake up so it ready to go when I need to use it.

        • +1

It still takes the same amount of time to heat up, you're just pre-heating. But yeah, I guess if you are that pressed that 30 seconds is making the difference, don't get this one!

          • @Dandaman21: its not just about the time its about heat regulation as well, making sure both the shot and milk are hot at the same time is better than allowing the shot to cool.

            • @kungfuman: Again, if you're requiring that level of precision, these machines aren't for you.

    • Sure you can. Only need a single boiler to steam milk and do a shot.

I usually do a double shot while steaming

    • As a complete coffee machine novice (literally have never used one) why is this important?

  • Any Touch impress deals?

  • I have had one of these for a couple of years now, absolutely love it. Nearly instantaneous heat up, pretty easy to clean/maintain.

  • I've had one of those, really nice. My onlybissue was I wanted the tamping from the oracle :). But ended up going to a fully auto machine.. sold that a few months later

  • Does this specific model comes with Burtaza burr grinder?
In the market to get the Touch Impress but no deals on for the impress.

This Touch deal is tempting. Wondering if I should take the leap!
