$929 on Bing Lee eBay store with PLUS120 (eBay Plus)

  • still worth buying after a year? or wait for Legion go 2?

    • Had one and returned it. The awful software ruined the experience for me and driver updates were non existent. I would avoid at all costs.

Rubbish. It’s the best of the three. Software is fine. Plus has biggest and best display which easily makes up for any software annoyances for all you precious Linux users.

      • iirc, Halfway through October 2024 they improved the Legion software… but most people switched over to Steam Deck to avoid the hassles with switching TDP or resolution, etc. Those issues are still there, it's just easier to manage when it's built into the UI and profiles/settings.

Bazzite solved too many problems to go back to windows for a lot of people.

You can install AMD chipset software which has Frame generation and FSR 3 which improves visual fidelity, but it often requires a bit of fiddling with the Legion Go Life profiles / settings to get Win11 games to work i.e. https://legiongolife.com/

That said, yeah, you're kind of doomed with Lenovo and their support, or lack of. It's often up to the community to shore up issues or replace/repair problems. Same with the Asus ROG Ally crowd.

  • wowzer, these are getting to be more eye friendly, was going to go a deck although the screen size for my aging eyes would have helped in any way.

these are starting to sound a bit my user friendly.

    • “the screen size for my aging eyes would have helped”
I wonder how much of a difference it really makes.

      • bigger, the better if you ask me. spec savers might actually tell me other wise.

i have seen the TCL ray neo glasses and that would be interesting as well.

      • Wait for the refresh due soon.

  • This battery is minuscule in comparison to the rog ally X.

    • They all have shite battery except for Steam Deck which has inferior performance. USB C cable nearby and non issue.

    • Lenovo knows how to properly package a cooling solution in a tight space: Legion Go

ASUS gives your more heat pipes, more fans, more battery: Ally X

But combines this with garbage design like putting a heat pipe vent right next to the SD card slot so you burn out both cards and the reader

      • -1

Why are you claiming design issues from the Rog ally when I’m talking about the X?
