I used the Dyson (profanity) at a hotel and was surprised at how similar the Chinese one was. Is the Dyson really worth an extra $400+?
Fwiw I’ve got the Xiaomi equivalent for $100 and can’t fault it. I can’t imagine the Dyson is 5x better functionally though.
I think a lot of purchases of these high end equipment are gifts from partners. I personally would go for the cheaper value product if for me, however I get the more expensive name brand 'better' product for my partner as a gift.

One issue is the Chinese ones don't come with diffusers and such so they're not usable for a lot of people with curly hair. I haven't been able to find a 3rd party part but maybe one exists.

Has some extra features. Do a quick google. Up to you if it's worth the extra price.
Has LIDAR to judge how far away your scalp is to adjust temp automatically for safety. Has better attachments too. Not worth too much more but nice to have the extra features. Actual drying time should be basically the same
