120
HGTECH1

$10 cheaper than last time. but doesn't show a delivery option? maybe C&C only.

sorry mods I can't sign in and check delivery details any further. ebay keeps saying "that doesn't match" and verification loop. won't let you sign in.

This item requires freight delivery and is currently not available for click and collect. If you would like to purchase this item, you will need to contact the seller to ask for freight delivery costs.

More junk you don't need floating around in the boot of your car.

Looks good - based on the $ per Ah and scaling it off the 24Ah, I think these will work themselves down to $240-$250 or less eventually

    • +1

it's got 100W USB-C out as well up from 60W of 24Ah version.

      • Thats true.
The 24Ah gets as low as $169 on occasion so thats what i based the prediction on

        • yeah I have reposted both the 12Ah and 24Ah a few times for ATL.

I actually saw this 36Ah at $279 two days ago? but I didn't post for an hour or two and when I came back the price had changed. 😂 they change it so often.

for $279 you could actually buy the 12Ah for ATL $109, and the 24Ah for $169 and have two separate power packs. no 100W USB-C out though. also don't think they will combine delivery not sure.

          • +1

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Yes, well by my simple maths, based off the $169 price for the 24Ah being the cheapest, 12Ah is $84.50, so $84.50 x 2 = $253.50 for the 36Ah and a little more off for economy of scale. They are still keeping the price a little higher because its a new product
Definitely a good one though - I hope to pick one up.

            • +3

@King Tightarse: yeah I think it's a new model too. this was awhile ago but used to search the ebay store because they would list the same thing multiple times with different prices. so to find the lowest I would search and I never saw the 36Ah model.

I learned they just cycle the prices like every 1-2 days so yeah just buy it when it's cheap.

              • +2

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: The best part of this new 36 Ah model is the included 50 A anderson plug.

I mostly have this as a back up for fridge, and the 12 V Cig sockets are a pain

as they often disconnect, especially on rough roads.

                • +1

@ozhunter68: ok I have no idea what that is. ok I have never seen that plug before. must be for outdoors.

                  • +1

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: This 50 A Anderson type connection is widely used in caravans/campervans/4 x 4/Powered Battery Boxes/Power Stations, and many camping and outdoor 12 V/24 V applications as it is a super safe, secure and waterproof connection. Aussie invention too. They also come in smaller and larger configs like 175 A which can start car enginges etc.

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: I get up every morning hoping to learn something daily, and usually do lol.

If I did not see your post I would not know this new model even exhists.

Now I want to sell my (new never used, just charged to full 3 months ago and on stand by),

and wait for a lower price deal for this model just for the Anderson connection

(bigger capacity a good bonus at extra $$$, size and weight though).

and before someone comments "$69.95 or not buying".

that deal was unobtainable. everyone got their order cancelled for some reason. found it unobtainable deal title was ebay and ebay cancellation reason was Something wrong with my delivery address.

  • +2

I don't have this exact model. but I bought the 12Ah one months ago. main downside of this product (and bigger models afaik) is the charging indicator with all 4 lights solid does not mean 100% charge. I have to wait an extra 30 mins for it to be 100% (probably ~1 hour for 24Ah model, not sure about 36Ah but not 2 hours if it charges at 100W it will probably be slightly less than 2 hours) and I only discovered this because I heard about it on youtube and bought a USB-C power meter.

and just thought I would share. zero info in user manual on how the LED light on the back works. quickly figured after unboxing holding the button would turn on the white LED's at the back.

but only realised this in the last few days. if you double tap the button, at least with nothing plugged in. yellow LED's at the back come on at a slightly lower brightness. and it's not the whole way across, but only like 1/4 on each end. kind of like a power efficient lantern mode that's easier on the eyes. just in case some of you didn't know.

I'd be careful about buying from 4WD Supa Centre.
Check out the weird and poorly punctuated feedback they are leaving on buyers ebay accounts, presumably after getting criticised for not honouring a sale:

This buyer is an unscrupulous person we had a system error with pricing , the powerpack which is usually sold at over $300 was for sale at around $50 , he knowing that there was an issue tried to take advantage , over 2000 listings had a glitch for over 7 hours and all the orders had to be cancelled , nobody would be surprised by this persons actions the way the world is today

Man they coming swinging. I'd hate to see how they'd handle disputes or warranty issues.

    • Check out the weird and poorly punctuated feedback they are leaving on buyers ebay accounts, presumably after getting criticised for not honouring a sale:

Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. Did they leave that as a positive comment? Where did you get it from?

      • Sellers can reply to negative feedback. If you look at the negative feedback on the ebay sellers page you'll see the strange responses from the seller.

        • +2

OK, so they did not leave feedback on buyers ebay accounts as you mentioned earlier. They replied to feedback on their own account.

It looks like they only left that reply 3 times. Whilst I don't agree with the wording of the message or the way they cancelled the order, if the buyers were actually trying to take advantage of a price error I think it's pretty poor form of them to leave negative feedback.

Clearly someone made a pricing mistake. Someone can try their luck and if they receive the item that's a win. But if they don't, they shouldn't kick the person who made the mistake while they're down. Imagine being the person making the mistake potentially losing your boss a few thousand dollars, and now you have to deal with entitled people leaving negative feedback.

          • +1

            @eug: I left negative feedback.
I purchased thinking it was likely part of an early black friday sale. I made the purchase at 5am well before it was advertised on here or anywhere else and had no real reason to think it was a mistake on their part as I often check items I am chasing for the current pricing most days and was hoping I got in early on a limited early black friday sale, turns out this wasn't the case.

The ONLY reason I left negative feedback is because they lied about the reason they cancelled the order. If they had of just said "we are sorry we made a pricing error and have to cancel your order" I'd have been fine with that.

            • +1

@AmperSand: In a neg reply they've claimed there's no option for price error:
"Reply from: 4wdsupacentre. Left within past month.
Hi this is not possible to do , we get 3 options , 1- out of stock , which it wasnt 2- buyer cancelled order , which you didn't 3 - issue with address , we nominated this because we were unable to send you the product at that price to your address , we also cannot add notes, all it is is a tick of one of the 3 boxes"

          • @eug:

Whilst I don't agree with the wording of the message or the way they cancelled the order…

In addition to the unprofessional vendor feedback, based on the negative feedback it appears that the vendor cancelled orders for dubious reasons. They claimed issues with buyers 'delivery address' which clearly can't be true on pickup orders.

This really doesn't give a good impression.

    • +1

Thanks, forgot to leave my feedback for the cancellation!

  • What's better between this or the likes of the Ecoflow River 2? Yes this one has bigger battery capacity 36ah, river has 20ah, and 2 X 12v output and 100w USBC, but the Ecoflow can do pure sine wave 300w AC output.

    • Do you need 240V?

      • +2

I was thinking for running CPAP machine overnight.

        • My wife got the 24ah one with a cigarette socket adapter and it runs her RESMED Airsense 10 for 3 nights

          • @Saars: I use the same airsense 10 also, that's good to know. I'm guessing using the 12v DC will be more efficient than using the 240v AC output to run the CPAP.

    • +3

Get the premium Bluetti version for much better specs at a good price point.
      EB3A is the model
Can also do 1200W at a pinch

    $69.95 or not buying

I charge my 36ah with a 12v 100w usb-c and a cheap amp/watt/volt meter inline so I can see what when and how much. Just like any usb c fast charge phone the meter drops to 5v when the battery is near or at 100%.

Works great as a second light duty battery in the car (Tucson) without running heavy cabling/charge controllers/isolators. Maybe if I had a bigger off-road car I’d consider all that.

I use it mainly for running some gear 24x7 (4G router / dash cam etc). Without flattening the car’s starter battery. But then also comes in handy for the fridge and charging drone batteries etc.

Pretty happy - it hasn’t missed a beat.

yeah same but 12Ah one doesn't drop to 5V when 100%. I plug it into Anker 65W USB-C charger and charges at 20V and stays at 20V at 100%, the A just drops to 0.00A.

happy with mine too, but I am just using it as big USB-C powerbank with enough left over if there is a black out. some people say they use it power a fridge for a few hours which I think will be more stressful.

      • +1

The drop to 5v (or not) is probably just the type of charger & it negotiating with the BMS. I use a Baseus 160w.

        • +1

might be the cable as well.

not an expert but I realised some funny stuff with C to C cables recently.

I have a device I think charges with QC standard (less common because it costs brands licensing money to use it apparently). IKEA 60W C to C cable negotiated QC 9V fine and charges the device. I bought a Ugreen 60W C to C cable, what happens?
it negotiates over and over and doesn’t charge at all, the light just flashes every 1.5 seconds on the device and when I put the USB meter it shows it never charges.

I looked up the Ugreen cable I says supports QC3.0, so I assumed it supports QC2.0 (which I am pretty sure the device uses). but now I think the Ugreen supports QC3.0 but not QC2.0 because that would cost extra to license. that’s why it fails to negotiate any charge. tested both cables with different chargers and same results. so pretty sure it’s 100% cable issue.

          • +1

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Yeah, could be the cable - as long as it shows 0.00A eventually and not over charging, it should be ok.

            • +2

@mlakmlak: was just about to add this above but too late.

my previous comment has nothing to do with Kings power pack. just trying to charge a different device with USB-C charger.

              • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Can get this now for $269 + freight or free C & C if you can make that work

through ebay with copon code PLUS120.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Yeah, this whole USB A/C charging with all the various protocols get's pretty complex as there

are 3 links in the chain that all need to communicate and line up for it to work as wanted.

Then there is data via USB A/C and that is a whole other storey again……..

            • +1

are 3 links in the chain that all need to communicate and line up for it to work as wanted.

yeah most of the time, I think USB PD standard is much more reliable and commonly used by most products. some products use licensed QC2.0/QC3.0 standard though, which just makes things more complicated.
and with certain devices, what I bought claims USB PD charging in spec but actually doesn't support PD and uses QC instead. and then as you say, cable standards are a whole another story.
