I can see the title update, could include that in your description
Nice that they rate the fire rating clearly as no.
Mortise style FYI
Some feedback: Installation is tricky, I installed Samsung and Eufy locks myself but for this I have call a carpenter. But it is one the best smart doorlock I have used. Seamless with fingerprints, apple watch, iphone etc.
why are you installing so many door locks?
He is carpenter
In any case, that's all I have for you today. If you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below. If you like this video, and you would like to see more like it, please subscribe. And as always, have a nice day. Thank you.
Makes sense
I'd love to tell you that I'm a multimillionaire with a portfolio of properties, but the truth is, I spent all my money on door locks. So now, I have the safest doors in my town, and nowhere to go.
Is it because the min thickness is 40mm and most doors in Australia is 38mm?
I have this lock.
Also had to call a professional to drill holes in my door to install it.
No regrets, best lock and very reliable with the finger print reader and code entry
How much did you pay for installation? I am getting quotes of $550 in Syd.
$267 delivered at Amazon - https://www.amazon.com.au/Aqara-A100-Smart-Door-Black/dp/B0B…
Can this be installed on a metal door?
Metal skinned or do you mean an aluminium screen style?
Not screen style, I have got aluminium entry door with glass
"The product requires an Aqara hub (sold separately) for the full experience"
?
Yes you would need a hub to use its full potential including automations. You don’t need a hub to use it as standalone lock though and it can be integrated to HomeKit without the hub.
Great price, I paid almost $400 for it and it has been rock solid since then.
Seems mixed reviews on Amazon
Doesn’t look like people are complaining about the quality of lock
I think a fair few reviews are regarding the older firmware of this lock which required lifting the handle to lock the door. This has since been changed.
Cheers to the community members who also researched the comments but actually elaborated
I can see the A100 is not rated for outdoors, has anyone had issues using it as a front door lock? My front door has a small awning but it might get wet in a big storm if rain is coming in a 45°.
Also any issues with smart locks and home insurance? from looking around it seems to be ok but the A100 and U300 can both be opened from the inside.
$255.55 (MCNOV5) https://www.mobileciti.com.au/aqara-smart-door-lock-a100-znm…
If I use this with Google home, do I need to buy a hub or will it work as stand alone?
I'm not sure but maybe this like will help;
To save you some time, the answer is yes
Is this lock fire rated and can use in strata buildings??
Yes to both.
Yes there is a fire rating.
Yes it can be used in strata buildings
Please let us know if your particular strata building allows you to install them though and how much fire you're allowed to storeThe page listing literally says "Fire Rated: No"
Every annual fire inspection you risk the inspector flagging it and strata asking you to restore the original lock at your expense.
How does it compare with Yale Unity entrance lock series? If anyone has info on these two brands. Thanks
I have this lock and U100. Both are working perfectly. Very good quality imo with this price.
Anyone tried to power force these open? Wonder how strongly they built
Hey guys, can someone please recommend an experienced locksmith to install this Aqara A100 lock ?
Thank you.
Following - I am getting quotes for $550 in Syd.
I’m getting a quote for 320 in Melbourne. I guess that’s the cheapest I can get.
Just got one for $280 here, will see how it goes on Friday.
Can you reverse the handle? I.e. for a door that opens on the right with hinge on the left?
Yes, you can.
I bought this for 380 in April this year. Installed it where I once had a mortised Lockwood. Had to slightly enlarge the mortise (pocket) in the door to fit this one. But super happy with it. Family uses fingerprint and Apple HomeKit for access. I didn’t bother installing the metal key snib.
The install job isn’t for the faint hearted or in experienced. You will need a decent chisel and a few other woodworking tools.
what's 57% off though
