    Good stuff

  • You need to get this @RichardL if you haven't already. I think you own just about every controller.

    • It would be like Thanos with the infinity stones

‘Reality can be whatever I want ‘

      • +3

I feel like he'd have two gauntlets with 8BitDo on one side and Anbernic on the other..

        • At the rate those two company releases products, I can build an army.

          • +1

@RichardL: I'm sure your house is filled with walls of IKEA skadis pegboards housing all of these controllers and handhelds. I do with my mechanical keyboard collection.

            • @Clear: Nah I just keep them in a drawer or on the shelf for the one I regularly use.

          • @RichardL: We just went from infinity stones in the Infinity saga, to infinity stones at the TVA.

    • Don't tempt me…I already have too many controllers that I rarely use…

      • What's your opinion on Gamesir? Nova for US $18.37 and the Nova Lite for US $17.96?

        • Haven't really looked into Gamesir dedicated controllers, but their telescopic controllers are probably one of the best in the market.

But at that price for a hall-effect controller + a case, it's definitely cheap.

          • @RichardL: I really only know 8BitDo. I think their firmware isn't nearly as good leading to issues and apparently the EasySMX X05 is a lot better in ways such as less input lag and the ability to wake a switch. I'm tempted at that low price.

  • Any reason why anyone would ever get wired apart from battery life

    • +14

Eliminates lag and connection problems. Would be good at a PC . Also cheaper

      • Thanks.

I'm contemplating buying a steam deck so could be great timing.

Havent done any gaming since the old N64 days

        • Why would you get a Steam Deck and then get a separate controller?

          • +1

@caitsith01: To play on a Tv?

          • +1

@caitsith01: I use my Nintendo pro controller when the Switch is un-docked ALL of the time. Prefer it over the joycons.

          • +1

@caitsith01: Hold off on a controller. Steam deck doesn't look so good on a tv because of the low resolution

      • I think LTT (think of that what you will) benched these and found the wireless to have less input lag? IIRC

        • The same guys who botched that test, lied about it, then complained that people are out to get them?

      • +1

For many other controllers (e.g. gulikit kk3 pro) there's a huge latency difference. For this one there's barely anything in it, ~1.5ms.

Here's the test results (from a great site for comparing controller features and latency):
        https://gamepadla.com/8bitdo-ultimate-2c-wireless.html

    • If it lasts long enough, you don't have to worry about the battery degrading. I love a lot of my 8bitdo controllers (especially for retro stuff) but for modern games I tend to use an Xbox series controller since I can just swap out some eneloops instead of having to tether it to charge.

I have the first gen version of their hall effect controller and unfortunately it has a problem with the wireless disconnecting randomly that no firmware update or setting have improved (the newer models probably fixed that, and none of my other 8bitdo controllers have that problem, maybe I just got a dud), but the sticks are precise and the controller is great to use. Actually, I should test its Bluetooth mode, that might work better…

  • This or new Xbox controller (forget about price)?

    • -2

Xbox as I think the branding on this (Wukong) is lame. However I'll add this to my collection of different controllers.

      • +4

I find the QC on xbox controllers a bit poor.

    • Xbox. Better build quality than this

    • -1

      Easily hands down 8BitDo.

m$ wish their controller on level with 8BitDo

  • Thanks @Clear, I was literally looking into getting a new 8BitDo controller about an hour ago. as my old one has shat itself, and is having connectivity issues.

    Got 1, thanks again!

    • Sounds like they're no good if your old one shat itself

  • what do people use the controllers for?

    • +23

      Submarines?

      • +1

        Submersive vehicle

      • +1

        Only the wireless Logitech ones.

        • I thought US Navy used Xbox 360 controllers…

          • @sween64: Yeah. Stockton Rush on the other hand..

    • +5

PC games that are cooler with a controller. I'm playing Super Mega Baseball, Tony Hawks, Forza, Mortal Kombat etc.

    • Blowing their nose.

    • Some games work a better with a controller for variable inputs rather than the binary on/off of a key press. Not shooters, god no, but vehicle based games benefit from analog triggers for acceleration/braking and analog sticks for steering.

  • Thanks got one

  • Thanks. Got one for 35 with the $5 off coupon from another seller.

    • Which seller?

      • +1

SupBit Store. It popped up in my Big save list on the front page

  • +1

It's not the greatest of build quality. The 8bitdo Xbox ultimate controller feels a lot more solid than this.
I bought it on launch for just under $47
    From my 3 controllers
The flydigi Vader 2 > 8bitdo Xbox ultimate > wukong wireless controller

    • Shame flydigi has much worse Bluetooth latency. Would have been the ultimate controller https://gamepadla.com/

      • Hmm I play on Bluetooth which looks extremely bad. But don't notice it.
It's probably worse if you play competitive but I played cod, and some rhythm games on PC which seemed all ok

    • How did you get the Xbox ultimate for $47?

  • +3

Hall effect sensors at this price, pretty good. Picked one up

  • +1

Is there anyway this will work with PS4/PS3?

Also could it get cheaper on the 29th?

  • +1

Have u got a deal re: Flydigi limit edition one? Cheers

  • Thanks OP. This looks like a really cool controller. Got one as a gift.

  • +1

8BitDo controllers are great. Insane value for the money.

      This is Wukong tax…

    • +1

Assumed the Wukong was cheaper but saw this comment right before I clicked order so thanks :)

Purple 2C Wireless for $39 is great.

  • Is there a controller that I can use with an iPad and Nintendo switch? Looking for a controller to use when travelling with aforementioned devices.

    • Yes sir - Their naming convention is odd but I also have the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller - https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-bluetooth-controller/

Has Bluetooth, Wired, and 2.4 via Dongle. Design of buttons is Switch layout but sends to PC as X-Input and typically remappable if required.

    • +1

Per specs, there's no motion controls on this one, which is a no go for Switch IMO. Better wait for the older 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth or Pro 2.

  • Can this be used for ps3 or ps4 or even ps5? will get one if it can

  • Would this work for an ipad for gaming? Looking at a cheap controller for ipad games?

    • -2

How would you plug this in? It’s wired.

      • +5

Guess they'll buy the wireless one.

        • check for compatibility

  • +8

    Cheaper here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007588427363.html?spm=a2…

Lots of sells and positive reviews.

    • Thanks for the link, bought wireless at ~$36 delivered

    • Thanks buddy, got it paying USD with Paypal for $33.88 for the wireless. Absolute steal 😊

      • What’s the price of you choose USD but pay with savings account instead of a CC?

        • Not relevant but 8 hours ago it was $36 AUD now it's $35.19

        • My order was $21.95 USD, I have an account with Up Bank which doesn't charge international fees.
Just select different currency option in PayPal and pay with USD instead of AUD.
You'll need to change your payment type in Ali to USD as well.

Works for most if not all of Ali's items to save money.

    • Both codes don't seem to work on that page, at least for me.

With the 8BITDOVIPAU code, the wired version on the page OP linked is at AU$30.88

    • On the specifications chart. It lists "hall effect" No

      Not the same item?

  • Managed to get the wired one for $5.52USD with new user discount and one of the codes.
Not sure if it was a price error, but great deal!

    • You can get some really insane prices as a first time AliExpress user. You scored big!
