Awesome controller. Even better now it has hall effect sticks.
The only issue I have with 8bitdo is that they don’t allow Bluetooth connectivity to a PC, you have to use dongle & if you play local multiplayer then you will need multiple dongles & ports for each of the controllers.
ummmmm no mate. I'm literally using two of these "BitDo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller for Switch" connected directly to PC Bluetooth, no dongle required.
Batocera Linux running on x86_64
I have Ultimate 2.4G Controller & 2C tried to use them on Windows PC but they don’t connect via bluetooth. Even cheap $20 aliexpress ones connect but not these. If there is a workaround then kindly let me know
Well that’s because those controllers don’t support Bluetooth. The one in this deal does.
Update your controllers with the 8bitdo app. Or ditch windows.
Neither of those product names mentions Bluetooth only 2.4Ghz, and their product pages do not mention it either.
Lots of companies use 2.4Ghz that are not Bluetooth. They then have different products that are for Bluetooth.
@ruddj: The issue is that these controllers have bluetooth but it can only be used to connect to mobile devices & not with PC. For some reason 8bitdo disabled this. There are some other brands which allow controllers to be connected to PC via wire/bluetooth or dongle.
@Wrongguy: Your dongle has the wrong version of bluetooth. You need to get a newer version compatible with the controller
@Dogfather: Dongle came with the controller & it is 2.4G, not a Bluetooth dongle. Bluetooth is inbuilt but the connectivity is limited to mobile devices by 8bitdo. They simply don’t allow the controller to connect to a PC via Bluetooth even though it has Bluetooth & it can connect to mobile devices via Bluetooth.
@Wrongguy: Buy one that does.
I have the older model without Hall effect and 100% they connect to a windows pc via Bluetooth.
My 8BitDo SN30 Pro only connects to my PC via Bluetooth, because Bluetooth is all it has :)
The model you bought must be only 2.4Ghz.
Username checks out. These absolutely work with PCs over Bluetooth
I use my Pro2 via BT all the time on multiple PCs.
@Wrongguy AFAIK, the ultimate 2.4G controller doesn't support BT connections
I made a generic comment(I should have been more clear) about 8bitdo and people construed it as me bashing this controller. I didn’t mention this controller once, I am talking about the 8bitdo controllers that support 2.4 wireless, bluetooth & wired connectivity. These controllers (2.4G ultimate & 2C ultimate to be specific) have blutooth but only connect to mobile devices via bluetooth but not pc. If you want to connect to pc then it has to be wired or with the 2.4G dongle no bluetooth support for pc. If I offended anyone then my apologies
Grey one is back up to $84 something dollars, the classic colours are still discounted. I would pick that classic one anyway.
Could these be used with switch or not ?
Yes as per the description in the advertisement. One click was required.
I have 2x Pro2 controllers. I can't make myself buy this deal - even though I feel it's a great deal - only because both of my controllers are still 100%.
It just gives me a nice feeling knowing that when they do cark it in the future, there's a good likelihood that I'll be able to find an 8Bitdo with hall effect sticks in the form factor that I like.
Wish 8bitdo or another would do a Dualsense alternative.
