    We use KDDI/Softbank or Docomo IIJ for Japan which are all excellent.

    South Korea we use SKT which is also excellent :)

        Not really it should be fairly similar if you don't care about latency.

        If you buy local Docomo/Softbank Japan SIMs it will have lower latency.

        For South Korea, we only have the Unlimited Ultra options if you want a "local latency" eSIM

  Hi there Anton,

  I had a really good experience using you guys for my last trip, but before I purchase any Japan e-Sim for a trip to Nagoya, and Kyushu and Shikoku region, I just had a couple of edge cases that need explaining.

  I fly in morning at 20 Feb morning and fly out 21 Mar morning

  1) Between DocomoIIJ and Softbank 50GB which would be better as I intend to get out of the major cities more?
  2a) If I buy the Softbank one and activate at the right time (i.e potentially 21st Feb), do I effectively lose one day of access before I leave on the 21st Mar? Or so long as I activate it before then do I get to use all 30 days?
  2b) If I buy the DocomoIIJ, does that mean I have to use/activate it by the 11th Feb?

    FYI Softbank is "Y Mobile" in here: https://www.nperf.com/en/map/JP/-/27305.YMobile/signal?ll=35…

    For Softbank physical SIMs there is no "number of days" you can use it up until 20 March 2025.

    Docomo IIJ eSIM is too early to purchase now, you can wait until Cyber weekend.

      sims direct, flexiroam, billion they are all the same… the e-sim just uses what ever local networks are there

      but I do have a question for you… with TravelKon do you get a QR code for e-sim for each plan you get or do you only get one e-sim and it uses what ever plans you have activated at the time?

          with Flexi you only get one e-sim for all plans so it's annoying because let say you have Asia plan and Japan plan and you activate asia first in another country and then Japan…. it will use up the earliest activated plan the Asia first then it will use Japan. So you can't save the Asia data for later use

  Ran into issues last time with their eSIMs while in the US - they said it was a carrier issue (the operator was Plus Poland) but basically had no internet in built up areas like stadiums and Disneyland so I probably won’t try those again…

            @kiitos: Was getting 0.15mbps downloads in full coverage. needed to tweak some settings to eventually get it working but this is my second int trip that ive had issues. so Im just buying sims in those countries from now on.

  I am travelling in April-2025 for 30 days - starting from Amsterdam.

  I am thinking of getting this -

  I have two queries -

  1. Will i be able to activate this once i land in Amsterdam? The number is UK - so will the activation process work once in Amsterdam.
  2. As this is a physical sim, can i assume that 90 days activation for esim does not apply here? i.e. Physical sim can be activated in April 2025 even if i purchase now.

    Yes you can activate in Amsterdam, simply insert to Activate.

    Physical SIMs goes by the expiry date so April 2025 is good to go

  Hello,

  I am going to China and The Netherlands on 22nd Feb 2025, the e-sim disclaimer states "I understand that the eSIM must be activated and used within 90 days of purchase to avoid expiration, and that no refunds or reissues are possible. The eSIM will work for the selected number of days from the first use."

  Since its roughly 101 days to 22nd feb and I am going for two weeks, does this mean if I buy in the next 10 days or so, I won't be able to use it, if I activate it within 90 days?

  Travelling in a few weeks time. Will be used in Poland and the UK. But a bit confused as to when I should install the eSIM on phone (iPhone 11). Do I do it now or best to leave it until the day before I fly out. Happy with the actual installation process, just the timing of when to do it.

    You can install the eSIM without activating the plan if you are still in Australia.

    The eSIM will only start when it connects to the local network in the coverage countries,

  It works out to $96 once black friday discounts applied. seems like pretty good value for 500gb of data in europe for 30 days.

  I was wondering if Travelkon had a similar sim card?

  i prefer to use Travelkon as i've had no issues with their service the past 6 times i've used their sim cards.
