I would like to get a new mobile sim and number that I can use to receive calls only.
What is the cheapest way I can achieve this feat?
Thanks all.

Walk into Aldi and buy a sim.
Next steps unclear. Busker outside was not interested in it, or my trolley token.
How much is that?
$5 gets you 60 days
@sumyungguy: That's a shame, looks like you need to spend an extra $15 for the 365 day credit.
Family member on 6 month Euro trip right now is doing this
That information shows its $7.
However, I could not find any information regarding the statement:
The total cost of $7 in the first year consists of the $2 SIM (eSIM available)(lebara.com.au) and the first $5 activation credit valid for the first 365 days. Subsequent recharges are $10 and last for 365 days
However, when you click on through to the site, it shows this:
Our Standard Plan or Pay As You Go is perfect is you’d like to pay upfront for what you use with our great rates. The minimum recharge value is $10 and there’s a 365 day expiry.
To access a Standard Plan get a $2 SIM, activate the SIM and recharge the service.
So it seems like the minimum is now $12…

lebara or amaysim PAYG
You can buy the Lebara $19.90 Starter SIM for $7 from Coles then activate it on PAYG with 12 months expiry. Same cost as the suggestion above but ends up with more credit.
Here's one option: Amaysim PAYG
