        • I have a fairly recent Sony, but the FireCube still kicks its backside, then upscaling is also better.
The main reason I prefer the FireCube is the dedicated buttons on the remote. Wife/family approved. It drives all other devices, home theatre ect.

  • Gone :(

  • These get hot? Fanless?

  • are there any similar devices that have a built in browser so i can stream sites like vipbox or buffstreams & without all the annoying popups?

  • Ive often had issues streaming HD films on plex to Samsung tv plex app.

Would Apple TV be better/faster/non buffering?

    • +1

Yes. A dedicated box has all the advantages here - other than requiring another remote!

      • Thanks! Will wait for the next sale!

  • Damn missed it, love ATV.

  • Does the shield support hdr in you tube yet????

    • I thought a premium device such as the Nvidia Shield would do HDR in YouTube out of the box. Even say the Fetch Mini 4K can do HDR in YouTube.

But no it seems that the Nvidia Shield still doesn't support YouTube HDR. In that regard you're probably better off with the Apple TV 4K as it does YouTube HDR flawlessly.

  • I don't knwo about these guys very well.
But they look a bit fishy, at the least for me.
I ordered this on 12th November.
I know it's my fault that I did not read carefully abou the estimated delivery.
After I waited over 2 weeks and began wondering what happened to my order.
    - edit: I checked it again and it wasn't really over 2 weeks. Purchase date was 12th and the date I asked for cancellation was 22nd.
And I found that the estimated delivery was set to Mid December.
I didn't like it while these most likely in stock products having over one month delivery time.
Might be grey import, might be chinese fake item or might be even scam which will never deliver at all.
I asked for cancelling the order last week.
Got an answer earlier ths week that I cannot cancel the order becasue it is too late.
The delivery estimate was still more than 3 weeks away.
