12v 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery for Trolling Motor

I recently bought a kayak and a 34lb Watersnake trolling motor and would like to get a 12v 100Ah battery.

BTW, how long the battery can last? i50ah vs 100ah?

Anyone have any comments on the following brand?

Werchtaty

No brand?

MFUZOP

King

Or any other suggestions?

I didn’t know trolling could be supplemented by battery power, I have only trolled using self-power so far.

Perhaps that’s how jv has managed to out-troll everyone all these years.

    Trawling…?

I had this argument a while back with a fisherman (I was well in over my head with grammar checking an expert)

The difference I was told was is that "trolling" is done with a rod and line, while trawling is the commercial exercise of using massive nets. Trolling is the action of "looking around and through in a line to see if anything bites" where as trawling is just casting a net and dragging it to catch ALL the fish.

Hence why the act of asking stupid shit on forums and making inciting remarks is called "trolling". You are throwing in a baited line in the hope of catching "a" fish.

Trawling would be posting a questions about recycling cans and bottles and the thieves defrauding the local government of their revenue and just netting ALL the fish.

Lots of people using the king's on boats with no issue.

  • It totally depends on the voltage. Just stating charge will not get you anywhere.
The ones you link happen to be only 12V, which is not ideal.

A quick look on the Watersnake web site suggests that most of their trolling motors operate on 12 volts. The OP didn't provide much detail, so I can't be sure if theirs is 12v.

  • how long the battery can last? i50ah vs 100ah?

In theory a 50ah battery lasts half as long as 100ah one. Its not quite that simple, but probably close enough to true.

One problem with noname or budget batteries is that they often get a little optiminsitc with their ratings, and sometimes downright lie.

Go read some reviews and fishing forum posts on batteries.

Lovehoney should have a motor you can insert into yourself, jv

    • What do you need it for?

    • jv, you already have quad outboard trolling motors. Where on earth are you going to fit more?!

      • dual-quad

  • Pretty happy with the Kings 120ah BLUE TOP battery (running fridge, water pump and lights). The earlier black top ones were apparently not so good, but the tear down vids and testing of the blue tops seem pretty positive.

  • Had 2 blue tops and i'm done. No more kings for me. :/
