    Very good self inflating mattress.

    • Is it self inflating? can't see it mentioned…

      • +2

These are described as self inflating because the internals push the cover out when the bung is opened. If you leave them for a while they naturally suck air in, then you close the bung to trap the air inside. There's no pump or anything, low weight is the key with these.

        • +1

          Thank you

  • +1

When you say you have the blue version, do you mean the 3DX which is double the thickness of this one? (15cm vs. 7.5cm)

  • +1

Im confused by the description. It is 7.5cm or 15cm (size specs has it as 15cm) thick?

    • +3

if you look at the 3dx(blue), it appears a lot more thicker which suggests that this might only be 7.5cm thick and that there's a typo in the specs.

  • +12

Use code BW10 for an extra 10% off (idk if it only works as a member).

I ordered this and the UL2 grasshopper tent last week. I then used the accumulated member points (2000) for a $20 discount code for a sheet that fits according to blackwolf chat https://blackwolf.com.au/products/phoenix-leisure-group-s000….

Note: Couldn't stack the BW10 code with that as the discount code override it.

    • +2

Thanks for the code. Got the queen size for $94.50

    • +3

Thanks. Signed up as a member for free which gave me free shipping then using the code BW10 got it down to $88.20.

    • +3

Can confirm BW10 works for this Single mattress. Along with free shipping if you sign up for free membership.

This should be added to OP.

  • +3

I currently have the Dune 4WD Self inflating mattress. How does this compare to it? Wondering if it's worth upgrading

    • +3

IMHO yes. I have this (7.5 cm) and have had a Dune in king single size. This is all "bonded" so feels more like a proper mattress than the Dune with the foam inside a fitted cover if that makes sense. I've had younger and older Relatives and me somewhere in the middle sleep on it and the Rellies have all commented on it's comfort. The bag mine came in has a connection on the end so you can roll it up to pump a bit of extra air into the mat to make it firmer. Unless you need something that packs up compact this is great value at this price.

  • looking for a kids sleepover mattress, and has no space for storage.
    This looks perfect.
    Thanks OP.

  • +2

No packed size mentioned which is a little strange

  • +1

Thanks OP I just got one! I used the code but then again I had to pay for shipping lols

    • +3

you need to create an account then you will get free shipping for members.

  • +2

Ordered, thanks OP. I was looking into these ages ago, I think I was comparing this with a Exped Megamat, ended up going with the Exped and it's great. But I remember thinking these Hexatherms were really great too and rated well. Will see how it goes.

    • +1

      Expeds are awesome.

  • +1

Is it worth $279 as listed rrp or expect less from that?

    • RRP is lol on Blackwolf products

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • +1

I have the Blackwolf queen Hexatherm 3d RRP $429, purchased and still on clearance for $236. It is very comfortable if anyone is after a double/queen mattress.

  • +3

Note: if you sign up using the referral code/links above you get $10 off - which is technically better than the 10% off offer.

  • Thanks OP. Got one. Need another camp mattress and good ones arent cheap! From reviews the black wolf ones seem to be comfy.

  • This or the Kmart ones for home use?

    • +2

For home use you don't need particularly good thermal properties or compact size when deflated. You can probably find a cheaper and more comfortable blow up mattress at Kmart.

      • Thanks!

  • +1

Thanks OP! Great deal. My partner has a black wolf mattress and I’ve always had a Costco one (can’t remember the brand) the black wolf is so much better. Bought a queen and a single

  • +1

I picked one up. Thanks @Sandez!

This is also 100% the 7.5cm thick version. The title says "Hexatherm 3D Single 7.5 Mattress". It's also printed onto the mattress in the first profile pic 🧐

    • +2

Amazing service letting you pick one up on a Sunday night! Please review.

  • How are the tents? I've been int he market for a tent and the Tuff Tent 4 looks decent with the discount

    • +3

Some of the best tents on the market when I last researched it. We’ve got the turbo one. Not sure exactly what model. Big tent with 2 rooms and a middle bit. Significantly better tent than the variety of tents that others bring when we go camping with friends. So much easier to put up and take down and nothing has bent or broken over the years

  • +2

    Thank you.

Also bought Wanderer cot, to go with it, from BCF $20 off with this new member deal that still works https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/629848
Not a bad setup for around $160. Hopefully will provide a better sleeping experience when car camping.

  • +2

    Thank you OP, bought x2

    • I got the 3D, couldn't find the X2. Please provide link

      • +1

I think he meant he bought 2 of them.

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought to replace my Dune 4wd queen, when i need space.

  • +5

Just a few things to note:

The hexatherm airlight queen (i.e. listed at the end of OPs post is NOT self inflating, and has no foam. This is a pro/con cause it's lighter and more compact but you will need to pump.

Also, I ended up going with this for the kids-

    https://blackwolf.com.au/collections/blackwolf-outlet/produc…

Smaller (122cm) but only 520gm, and packs to 29x12x12cm) which will be great for the kids when they go school camps etc

Also, as mentioned earlier, with anything under $99.99, going referral link ($10 off) will = better discount than bw10 code

  • +1

Thanks OP, got the queen airlight

  • +1

I have the Zempire Monstamat in twin, which is amazing, but wanted a single- and this looks good for the price. Thanks for the post.

    • +1

Same. The monstamat is so comfy. Be good to compare

    • Zempire was my first choice but I just couldn't justify the price though!

  • Does this provide more comfort or protection from cold ground vs those cheapo big W air mattress for 10$? They inflate more than these I think

    • +1

The problem with air mattresses is that the air inside it never gets any warmer. You lose most of your heat to the ground. You can prevent this by having another layer between you and the air mattress like another blanket, but that's one extra thing you're bringing. Comfort is more of a preference thing. I find these self inflating mattresses more comfortable (thickness dependent), some find the air beds more comfortable. With the air beds you need to bring an air pump too.

  • Hi all. Bought the queen air mattress. Read a comment on here that the pump isn’t included. Any one have an air mattress pump recommendation?

    • +3

the flextail zero pump is great, can get either from snowys or aliexpress ($15 cheaper on ali ofc)

      • Thanks HKS. Pretty compact pump!!!

  • I'm looking to replace the foam mattress from my Kings Big Daddy Deluxe. Would 2x singles be better than 1x double mattress? Does anyone have any experience with this?

    • +1

i replaced mine with a blackwolf 3d one, way better in terms of comfort but I also swapped out the big daddy swag for a oztrail 3p fastframe tent that takes 1/4 the time to setup and way more room. 2 singles would work better if you and your missus have preferences on how firm you want the mattress but check widths.

    • +2

Singles pushed together to sleep with someone sucks and you can't split a twin when you want to go solo- so takes up all that space and a bit of extra effort when deflating. So more options with the singles, better with a mate on a double.

  • +1

Bought x2 of the 3D single. Great post! Used the BW10 and free shipping to top it off.

Thought about holding out for a good deal on a queen to share with the missus but decided on two singles for greater flexibility. Can't see a use case where the Queen outperforms two singles unless you are really tall or you really want to share the same mattress and don't want to fall down the crack in the middle :0

  • +1

Cheers OP. Should be an upgrade over the current Kings "self-inflating"

  • The BW10 code does not work for me. I can only see a space for a code in the shop pay method. Is there some trick to this? Many thanks.

    • Are you a member/signed in? Worked for me and I only just joined.
You enter the code at checkout

      • Yeah, just signed up as well. A bit of a weird process with the shop pay confirmation for signup though. Definitely says I'm logged in. Weird.

UPDATE: Referral code works fine. Cheers.

        • @rko I was unable to apply the BW10 code as well. How did you receive or apply the referral discount?

  • +4

I dont want to get flamed but just the obligatory - these go for like $20 - 60 on aliexpress. On alibaba even the priciest ones in australia are usually 20-30usd. The retail prices for these mats have always been 10x the wholesale cost.

  • +2

    Thanks OP.

Ordered the single for $88 delivered. What's great about the single is that it's got a high R rating (5.8).

The queen one doesn't mention any R rating, so just be aware.

  • +1

The BW10 code seems to work again, I reached out to live chat, and they let me know there was an error and it is active working :)

  • Did anyone else pay for express shipping? Ordered Mon morning, took 3 days to dispatch and now tracking is saying it’ll be late.

    • I opted for regular shippping on Monday and have not received any notifications yet. I suspect you may indeed be receiving "relatively speaking" express shipping. :/

    • +1

I ordered mine Sunday night, it arrived yesterday (Friday). Standard shipping.
Arrived via some unknown courier in a plain white van, no notifications, email or otherwise saying they were coming, just turned up.
I’m quite pleased with initial appearance of the mattress. It is good quality, quite bulky and sturdy, compared to hiking mats, but ideal for car camping. Once it’s naturally inflated I’ll try it on my stretcher. I don’t think it’s worth the RRP but to be fair it is in the quality range around say, $150 or more, so a very good deal. Thanks again OP.

    • As mentioned earlier, regular shipping here,. I received an email last night that Startrack has it in Sydney, and its on its way. Considering I'm in SA, i dont think i will be able to make use of it this weekend 🤔

    • Yea still nothing for me. I will not bother with paying extra for express shipping next time.

  • Did anyone find they need to pump theirs up more? It hasn't self inflated as much compared to a different brand.

    • +2

Did you leave it for a couple of days? Also, you need to turn the one way vent to fully open - it’s like a disc that swivels on a hinge

      • +1

Yes left for couple days flat with vent fully open, havent pumped any air yet. Servicable but feels like there's space for more air.

        • Just checked mine again. Yes, serviceable with just the self inflating, but more space for air. I think I will need to use the bag to make it a bit firmer

    • Let mine inflate a week before first use. Used it on the weekend and it was okay. Inflating and deflating was quick and easy but seemed quite soft compared to my Kings branded one which my partner was using.
Might try adding air next time but kinda defeats the purpose of being self inflating.

      • Yes had to add air with the provided bag then it was good
