Is this significantly faster than the 2TB SN740 that went on sale for about $130 a few weeks ago? Cause they're kinda close in price

    • +2

      1Tb vs 2Tb though…

Performance review also shows its worse in all ways but power consumption.

      • Oof did not expect that it'd be that much worse.
Then yeah 2TB seems like a much better deal.

          Also, as OP pointed out:

          Memory: Micron 176L QLC

    • no, this is much slower, 176L QLC VS 112L TLC on the sn740,

expect 5-10x slower seq on this drive.

  • worse and worse! HMB and G-D knows how many TBW! unless you want a 2230 It is cheaper to buy a SKHynix Beetle X31 and shuck the 2230 which has DRAM cache! How can a Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 7300 1TB with a high quality separate Heatsink go for $89 with free postage ?

    • $154 for a beetle is cheaper?

      • When i bought the Beetle last week its was 25% off ie $106

  • not good for a steam deck? what are others using!

    • +2

In my steam deck I've had 1TB and a 512GB 2230 nvme from aliexpress which have both died with in 6 and 3 months.

Just put the original 64gb ssd back and and used a 512gb microsd card, playing the same games there's no speed difference in the steam deck at all.

  • Care to explain the bulletproof warranty? Are Amazon just really relaxed with the faults and it’s almost a no question asked return?

    • +1

      Basically:

      • Amazon AU will provide a return postage label (so you only need to drop off the item at the nearest return point).
      • Big company so your 5 years warranty will be covered.
      • Corsair won't give Amazon a hard time because of Amazon's buying power and online market share.

If Amazon AU deemed a refund is needed, as soon as the returned item has a scanned event, Amazon AU would issue a refund. Amazon international store items sold through Amazon AU don't get the same red carpet treatment, but still pretty good. If you buy directly from Amazon international (not through Amazon AU), then you have to deal with the relevant Amazon store directly.

No, you can't use this for your new M4 Mac Mini. You have to pay $600 for 1TB storage.

      Apple’s pricing is criminal.

    • +1

You can actually. USB-C -> M2 external shell for like $30 shipped.
